Mountain Hideaway Cabin
Mountain Hideaway Cabin
Description
Take it easy in this older style Lockwood cabin. As it is made entirely of wood, it makes creaking noises often. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay (but no dishwasher and clothes dryer). Located on the side of Mount Ngongotaha, you have an amazing view over the city as well as the surrounding Forrest. Don’t let the steep driveway put you off. You will be surrounded by native bird life so be prepared to hear their songs early in the mornings. Come and be my guest! The space The entire house is available for your private use. This is an older style Lockwood home. As such, it has the normal creaks that you can expect from expanding timber. It has older fittings, lighting and the water system is on mains so pressure is low. There are 3 beds available to sleep in. 1 King, 1 Queen & 1 Double. It is the first house on a shared driveway which is very step, but makes for a great view over Rotorua from various rooms in the house and outside on the deck. The garage is off limits as it is used to store Air bnb essentials. There are 2 outside parking spaces available. As the house is on the side of a mountain, the driveway is steep. This can be hard for some people to navigate, especially in winter. There is a Weber gas bbq that can be made available, however this is an extra $50 due to gas bottle refill costs, transportation, and cleaning fee. The bbq must be prearranged with payment. Guest access Access is to everywhere but guests should be aware there is a 1 meter long pond with large goldfish. So small children need to be supervised when outside as it is open. Other things to note We have had to get cameras installed as guests book the house which can only accommodate maximum 6 people, (due to bedding and hot water). A child or baby counts as 1 person too. So we now check the camera footage to make sure that the maximum of 6 people are at the house only. If we find additional people at the house, we will charge an extra $100 fee per person. From time to time our lovely guest leave unopened food or sauces to share with the next guests that stay at Mountain Hideaway. Please feel free to help yourselves to these foods. We often leave fresh fruit and snacks for guests also to enjoy. If you are hungry then please consume all that is there, but we do ask that you please not take everything home with you just because it is free. We seem to have had a bad run with guests taking more than just food. All kitchen utensils, umbrellas, ornaments, cleaners, toilet paper and towels, are there to make everyone’s stay more pleasant, enjoyable and homely. Please don’t take these things just because you can. These items get too costly to replace as we are trying to keep your stay as affordable as possible. Food should be consumed at the dinning table or outside at the patio table. If food is consumed on the couches or in bedrooms and duvets, carpet, cushions or curtains get stained, you will incur extra cleaning fees for these items to be cleaned. We appreciate your consideration ❤️
