Cosy Adelaide Hills getaway

Our beautifully renovated, self-contained “Serendib Cottage” is located in the tranquil suburb of Hawthorndene in Adelaide Hills. With Belair National Park and other hiking and cycling tracks nearby, you would be hard pressed for choice. While it feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is only a short distance to Flinders University and hospital, CBD, many beaches and Westfield Marion with many public transport options. The space The cottage is self-contained and located at the back of the owners’ house with separate access and free car parking for one car. The cottage is set up to accommodate up to 4 people comfortably with a queen bed in the main bedroom and a bunk bed in the second bedroom. The sofa in the lounge area also has a pull-out double bed to accommodate extra guests ($15 pp/night). There is free Wi-Fi with a smart TV with access to Netflix for guests. The bathroom is newly renovated with a washing machine for guest use. The kitchen is set up with all the things you need to make a home made meal. Guest access The owners have lived in this property for only 2 years and have done extensive renovations to the houses. The gardens are a work in progress with many invasive trees being removed making way for a lush native garden and fruit orchard in the near future. As such, we kindly ask that you refrain from accessing the backyard due to the steep nature of the land and current landscaping work being carried out. The guests are more than welcome to wonder through the front yard and enjoy the native plants and the beautiful native birds and butterflies they attract. *Please note that the house is located in a hilly area and therefore on a slope. Access to the house is down a pathway to the back of our house and there are also a few steps to navigate. Other things to note Weekend minimum 2 night stay. The property is accessed from a side access lane off the main street. Guests will be provided with clear instructions on how to get to the cottage once the booking is confirmed. No smoking or vaping in the cottage, or in the property please. You are welcome to do so in the driveway. One of my children is asthmatic and its one reason we have moved to the hills for the fresh air.
