The Happy Camel offers a serene family friendly environment nestled in the beautiful Ugandan countryside. It is perfect for those looking for fun and adventure or just a quiet place to relax and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Our small herd of happy camels (Haboba, Habibi and Faridah), horse, Sox, and his donkey side kick, Penny, are always available for pets, treats, or grooming, as well as short rides on occasion. The space The Happy Camel is located in a quiet rural farming area 13 kms from Jinja town and only a short boda ride away (3.5 kms) from Bujagali, where there are great restaurants and fun activities such as quad biking, rafting, tubing, etc. Bujagali Dam and the River Nile are a 15 minute walk away by footpaths through fields of local crops. Guest access The Happy Camel house has its own privately fenced yard, with a fire pit and secure parking. The house features a spacious veranda with comfortable furniture suitable for relaxing or eating meals outside while overlooking a beautiful valley with various crops and plantations. Inside you will find a fully equipped kitchen for self catering with an oven stove, refridgerator/freezer and water filter for an abundant supply of safe drinking water. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms provide plenty of space and privacy to enjoy for families and/or multiple friends. Extra mattresses are also available if you'd like to come with more than 5 guests. A sandpit, swings, basket ball hoop and badminton net are all available for guests to enjoy in a common area shared by our family. Guests can interact with our family's beloved camels, Haboba, Habibi and Faridah, and friendly horse Sox and his donkey sidekick, Penny. They love attention and are always happy to be pet or brushed and are available for short rides. Basketballs and badminton equipment are available upon request. Other things to note Since we are about 25 minutes away from Jinja town it is advisable that you bring all of your groceries with you as there are few shops around that offer much other than the essentials. Be sure to bring your marshmallows to roast in the fire pit!
