Springles Cottage Barcombe

Description

Springles Cottage has recently been renovated to provide a special place to escape, in the heart of The South Downs National Park. It is on the outskirts of Barcombe Village, nestled within easy reach of Lewes, Brighton, Glyndebourne and Gatwick. It has beautiful uninterrupted views from the cottage across the garden, the fields and The Downs. It is a designed as an eco-conscious building, using an air source heat pump for heating and hot water and there is also an electric car charing point. The space The cottage has been styled to feel calm and uncluttered, whilst being cosy and comfortable, using lots natural materials. The downstairs is very open and spacious with a kitchen, breakfast room, lounge and dining area. Central to the living space is log burner for cosy nights cuddled up on the sofa. There is also a large TV with Sky channels as well as a Sonos sound system throughout. The dining area can comfortably seat 6 people if you have any guests popping by. In addition, there is a breakfast room off the kitchen, to enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the garden. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you should need during your stay; full size fridge freezer, induction hob, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and plenty of glassware and crockery. A welcome hamper will provide essentials for breakfast as well as store cupboard basics. Holmansbridge Farm Shop minutes down the road that sells a great selection of local produce if you don't want to venture far. However we are 10 minutes from Lewes where you will find regular farmers markets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. There is a beautiful spiral staircase that leads up to the master mezzanine bedroom, with a huge window overlooking the garden and Downs. An electric blackout blind is fitted and controlled by your bedside. The master room has an en suite shower room. Downstairs, there is a further double bedroom with wardrobe, shelves and hanging space. There is also a downstairs bathroom and utility with BOSCH washing machine and separate tumble dryer. Outside, there is a patio area with table and chairs and access to a shared paddock, with further seating, small tree house, trampoline, rope swings and plenty to keep the kids entertained. From here, you can watch the sunset over The Downs from what our children have coined 'Sunset Spot'. We have been developing the flower beds to encourage lots of wildlife and bees and also have a small veg patch area that guests are welcome to enjoy. The site is very safe and has an electric gate to gain access. Guests will have a remote control to use during their stay. That said, because of the spiral staircase and mezzanine bedroom, we do not feel that the cottage is suitable for young children that have just started to be mobile. Babies and older children are welcome. However, guests must supervise their children at all times. Other things to note There is a spiral staircase that cannot be gated off. There is a small nature pond, about 1ft deep that is not fenced off. There is a log burner with no guard. For these reasons we do not accept toddlers. We have a septic tank, so please do not dispose on anything other than tissue down the toilet otherwise there is a risk it will block.
