This upstairs apartment is located on beautiful Conanicut Island and situated in the heart of the village of Jamestown and walking distance to restaurants, beaches, shopping and town grocery. Recently remodeled and outfitted with everything you will need to enjoy your stay. This amazing 2 Bedroom/1 Bath apartment is centered in one of most beautiful locations in New England. It is situated on Conanicut Island in the middle of Narragansett Bay. The island is one mile wide and nine miles long and connected by bridges to the mainland on both East and West sides. The unit is located within the village downtown area of Jamestown. It is just a short drive or walk to two State Parks of Fort Wetherill, Beavertail, local beaches, fine restaurants, a bakery, shopping, convenience store, grocery store, fishing, playground for children and kayak & boat rentals. Just a short drive across the Newport (Claiborne Pell) bridge and you will be able to take the very impressive mansion tours. Then after your mansion tours take a walk along the scenic Cliff Walk (3 miles long or just do a portion), stroll along historic Thames street to shop or dine in a vast variety restaurants. Then book a sailing cruise aboard the Madeline sailboat from the Newport Wharf. Visit Sweet Berry farm in middletown to pick fresh fruit, visit the local wine vineyards. The light house tours by boat using the Fast Ferry might also be of some interest or taking a cruise out to Martha's Vineyard or Block Island two of the islands offshore. There are just so many things to do in and around the Jamestown area. Also, rich in American History for those history buffs. George Washington crossed the Island along present day Narragansett Avenue to get to Newport to meet with the French General during the Revolutionary War. Just ask us and we will be happy to help you plan your vacation. This unit is a one hour drive to Boston where you can spend the day exploring the Freedom Trail, a Boston Red Sox Baseball game, visit the Samuel Adams Brewery or just take in some sightseeing around the area. Foxboro Stadium for Revolution soccer or Patriot football is just about 35-45 minute drive. Cape Cod is about a 45 minute drive to go whale watching and New York is about 2 hours away to explore the big city. The Village 59 is a great central location to stay for your next vacation to explore the New England area! During your stay you will have access to a local public library playground just a block away and across the street, Cumberland Farms convenience store and a bakery just one block away. Also within 1/2 mile are beaches, tennis courts, golf course, kayak and boat rentals, and fishing. Parking is available for one to two cars utilizing both driveway and street parking. Our guest now receive free WiFi all year long. TV antenna for local news and fire stick for accessing your favorite streaming account. We will be happy to assist you with planning your stay, directions etc. This beautiful apartment/condo is within walking distance of the historic village of Jamestown and 1/2 mile from the town beach. Conanicut Island where Jamestown is located was founded in 1678 and lies in the middle of Narragansett Bay. A windmill is just one of the many unique historical structures just down the road, within a short walking distance are also many scenic views, fine restaurants, public library, pharmacy, Jamestown Fire Museum, convenience store, golf course, tennis courts, shopping, grocery store, fitness center, beaches, post office, and the Jamestown/Newport Ferry The best way to get around is by car. However, just a short walk less than a half mile to East Ferry you can pick up the Ferry boat to Newport to spend the day. The boat will also take you to other points of interest for sight seeing. You can also take the Fast Ferry to Block Island and Martha's Vineyard which is also available. Nearest airport: TF Green Providence approximately 20 miles Nearest train station: North Kingstown, approximately 9 miles Car is recommended Recommended Airlines: Delta & Southwest Recommended Car Rentals: Available from Airport or area rental locations
