Kick back and relax in this pretty holiday hideaway in the heart of strikingly beautiful Cerne Abbas, home to the famous Cerne Giant. Decorated and equipped to a high standard to create a stylish home away from home, Myrtle Cottage is the ideal base for exploring Dorset’s iconic Jurassic coast, its wealth of historic houses and gardens, picturesque towns and villages and stunning countryside. 3 exceptional pubs and a village store within a short walk, up to two small well-behaved dogs allowed. The space Heading into this end of terrace property from the lane, you are met by a welcoming hallway. To the right is the lounge, which has comfortable seating, an electric fireplace and a Smart TV. An open doorway leads from here into the stylish kitchen/diner, which is equipped with an electric range-style cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. Once back in the hallway, take the stairs that lead you up to the first floor where there is a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and WC, a double bedroom and a cosy single bedroom. Completing the accommodation is a contemporary shower room with WC. Outside via the rear door you will find a pretty enclosed courtyard garden with outdoor furniture, ideal for dining alfresco. To the front of the property there is roadside parking (subject to availability). Guest access You'll have access to the whole house and garden, but not to the garage. Other things to note Cerne Abbas lies in the Cerne Valley within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village of Cerne Abbas is home to the iconic 180 ft Cerne Giant, which is carved into the chalk hillside above the picture-postcard streets, which are lined with historic houses. There are many scenic walking and cycling routes that run directly from the property and the village is well serviced with local amenities including three pubs, a post office, a tearoom and several shops. Cerne Abbas was voted Britain's most desirable in 2008 and was described as ‘strikingly beautiful’. Various annual events are held around the village, including a classical musical festival and open gardens, which attract many visitors. The multiple award-winning Cerne Abbas Brewery is situated just south of the village on the A352 and also hosts many events during the year. The village is ideally situated for touring popular destinations such as Abbotsbury, the county town of Dorchester, Weymouth, and Bridport, which are all within 15 miles. Head slightly further afield to Lyme Regis or Charmouth (20 miles) and you can enjoy hunting for fossils on Charmouth Beach before meandering through the charming streets of bustling Lyme Regis, where there is a good range of independent shops and galleries. The much-photographed landmarks of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are also accessible, only 17 away miles by car.
