Description

Begin your next adventure at Findley House, our brand-new 2-bedroom escape in the heart of Trail Town USA. You'll be greeted by mountain views and sunlight streaming through sixteen windows. We carefully designed and built Findley House from the ground up to offer a modern twist on the quintessential mountain getaway, perfectly located near the many adventures that Damascus and the Appalachian Mountains have to offer. The space A Note Before You Book: As you may know, Hurricane Helene recently impacted our charming town of Damascus, causing significant damage in some areas. Unfortunately, this has led to the temporary closure of the upper Creeper Trail from Damascus to Whitetop. Luckily, the Creeper Trail from Damascus to Abingdon (about 17 miles), as well as most businesses and bike shuttles in downtown Damascus, are completely open! Findley House is fully ready to welcome you for a relaxing stay. If you have any additional questions about the hurricane’s impact, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we're here to help! Explore The Surroundings Grab your morning coffee and enjoy a short walk to the Creeper Trail, Riverfront Park, or Damascus Town Park, all just steps away. Located on a quiet neighborhood street, you can enjoy meals at the outdoor dining table, great conversations on the multi-level deck, and stargazing on a clear night by the fire pit. The Amenities Findley House is fully equipped to be your 800 sq. ft. home away from home. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and everything you need to brew the perfect cup of coffee with fresh beans from our favorite roasteries. Enjoy your meals at the large granite island or take them outside to the covered deck for a bite in the fresh mountain air. After a full day on the trails or a slow day with a good book, relax by the fireplace and sink into the cozy West Elm couch. We didn’t want the TV to dominate the living area, so we chose the sleek Samsung Frame—a high-definition TV for your movie night when you want it, and an unassuming work of art when you don’t. Findley House also comes equipped with ultra-high-speed fiber optic Wi-Fi to keep all your devices as connected as you’d like them to be. The primary bedroom includes a queen bed, while the second bedroom has a full-size bed. Both rooms are outfitted with Nectar memory foam mattresses and designer linens. Two more guests can sleep on the queen sleeper sofa in the living area. With one full bathroom featuring a custom tile shower and an additional half-bath, there’s plenty of space for everyone to keep up with their daily routines before hitting the trails or exploring neighboring towns. More Than Just the Trails Findley House is the perfect home base for discovering everything this area has to offer. Just outside of Damascus, you can visit Beartree Mountain Lake (a 14-minute drive), take photos under Backbone Rock (7 minutes away), or see wild ponies amidst breathtaking mountaintop views at Mt. Rogers State Park (a 39-minute drive). If fine dining and art are more your scene, take a short 15-minute drive to Abingdon, which was voted the best small-town food scene in the country by USA Today. We can’t wait to share this special place with you! Other things to note More Than Just The Trails Findley House is the perfect home base for exploring all that this area has to offer.
