Sailor's Return is a beautiful Grade II listed cottage in the heart of Mevagissey and less than a minute's walk to the harbour. There are 2 king size beds situated on the 1st floor. The 3rd bedroom is located on the 2nd floor with 2 single beds and accessed via a narrow staircase with a low ceiling and may be unsuitable for children and guests with limited mobility. There is a kitchen, separate dining room, 1 bathroom, outside secure courtyard with dining area. 1 free parking. The property is newly refurbished throughout in a stylish manner, yet maintaining its original character and has a history of being the home of local fishermen over the years as well as a Fish Hawker - Circa 1810 Parking is provided for 1 car in a car park which is a 5 minute walk from the cottage with a guaranteed spot and electric charging points. There is a small short stay car park yards away from the cottage for arrival unloading/loading. The front sitting room has a log burner, two 3 seater comfy sofas, a Smart TV, (Netflix) DVD player and a HDMI cable. There is a wide selection of games , books and DVD's. There is a dining room and table that comfortably seats all 6 guests and additional crockery to accommodate roast dinners, including a steamer, casserole dish and ample pots and pans, and egg poacher. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee machine , cafetière, a cocktail maker and champagne bucket and wine rack, along with all the cooking utensils and equipment you will need. This 3rd bedroom is spacious and also has a Smart TV and HDMI lead. Outside is a secure and private courtyard comprising of a patio and a decked area with a table and chairs accommodating for 6. There is space to leave your surf and paddle boards and hang your wetsuits and swim wear. There is an outside tap to wash down any sandy toes! We accept a maximum of 2 dogs , there is not a charge for their stay. A minimum of 7 nights stay in peak summer times. Mevagissey hosts authentic Cornish pubs with open fires and traditional home cooked food as well as harbour view restaurants and cafes. All of these are just a short stroll from the property. SAFETY - PLEASE NOTE: STAIRS & LOWER CEILING As noted previously this property is on 3 floors. The 2nd floor bedroom hosting the 2 single beds is accessed by a narrow staircase with a low ceiling. This space may not be suitable for children or persons with mobility issues. Due to the property being a Grade II listed building the height of the staircase's banisters, as well as the gaps in between the spindles of the banisters may differ to what you are familiar with at home. The gaps in between the banisters may be wider and the height of the spindles lower. For your safety please always take care on the stairs and supervise children. SAFETY - OUTSIDE AREA & STEPS : There are 2 steps up to the front door. A handrail is in place. Due to the age of the property and it being Grade II listed, the front door steps are slightly uneven. The slight groove in these steps is the mark of a resident Fish Hawker passing over the threshold as well as many a fisherman over the past 200 years! Please view image of front door steps. There are 2 steps up from the rear patio onto the decking and outdoor dining area, there is not a handrail in place for these 2 steps. Some areas of the rear outdoor patio may be very slightly sloped. Please see images of rear yard. PROVIDED FOR YOU: A bath towel per person. A hand towel in the WC / bathroom. A clothes horse , iron & ironing board. A hairdryer in each of the double bedrooms. 2 x fire guards (1 small size & 1 large size for infants) 1 x fire gloves. Logs & kindling - We are unable to supply fire starter or matches. CHRISTMAS: For our December guests a Christmas tree can be provided if this is something you would like during your stay.
