The space Sleeping Arrangements The cabin features two spacious bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen bed. The bedrooms are equipped with high-efficiency air coolers (not central AC), which work well in our climate. For extra cooling in bedrooms, guests can add ice or cold water to enhance the breeze. Location The cabin is conveniently located close to local shops, grocery stores, and restaurants, making it a great base for exploring the Mount Rainier area. Be sure to check out our Airbnb guidebook for local recommendations. Guest access You can access the cabin using the electronic key codes. The entire cabin (both indoor & outdoor) is yours to use except 1) the owner's closet in the laundry room which will be locked 2) Storage shed in the backyard Other things to note Firewood for Fire Pit Firewood is available for purchase at several locations in town. Many guests use the firewood vending machine outside Jacob’s Barber, about 2 miles from the cabin. Don’t forget to pick up a fire starter if you plan to use the outdoor fire pit. Connectivity Cell service varies in this rural area. T-Mobile works well in most cases, Verizon generally works, while AT&T coverage may be limited. The cabin has high-speed Wi-Fi (~40 Mbps) which is usually sufficient for streaming and video calls. As with many mountain communities, occasional internet interruptions can occur. Wildlife Our cabin is located in Ashford, a forested mountain community near Mount Rainier, where wildlife is part of the natural environment. While sightings are generally uncommon, guests may occasionally see animals such as deer or other local wildlife. Garter snakes are also common in the summer months; they are non-venomous and harmless. As always, we recommend using common-sense precautions and avoiding leaving food outside. Power Outages (Winter Weather) Due to our mountain location, temporary power outages may occasionally occur during storms, usually lasting a few hours. Flashlights and extra blankets are provided. The stove and fireplace are propane-powered, so cooking and heating are still available during outages. If the weather keeps you indoors, feel free to enjoy the board games and foosball table for some friendly competition.
