Cottage in Leelanau, 13 min to beach, wooded yard

This cozy cottage, nicknamed The Forester, is in the heart of Leelanau County, 13 minutes to Lake Michigan's Good Harbor Beach! It was furnished in 2020 with comfort and convenience in mind. It's hugged by a forest with a private, big backyard, deck, and outdoor shower (summer use). It's a great central home base for exploring Leelanau County's beaches, hiking, sand dunes, lakes, historic rural areas, shops, wineries, and breweries. The space It's great for 2 but can sleep up to 5. 1,200 sq. ft. Fully stocked kitchen (no dishwasher). Central air and heat. Washer and dryer. We love the area and trust you will, too. The house is located in the heart of the village of Cedar: 5 min walk to shops and dining like Cedar Tavern, Buntings Market and gas station, Blue Moon Ice Cream, Cedar River Coffee Co, Polish Art Center. Less than a mile to Cedar Sol Taco Stand and Hydro Farm. 23 min drive to Empire, headquarters of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore 20 min drive to Traverse City 28 min drive to the Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City. 18 min drive to historic Leland Fishtown 15 min drive to Chateau Fontaine Winery, 10 min to Bel Lago Vineyards & Winery 7 min to Broomstack Kitchen & Taphouse in Maple City. PLEASE NOTE: This is an older house with short doorways, so above-average height people will need to watch their heads. NOTE FOR FAMILIES: the main bedroom is upstairs and there is currently no door or baby gate at the top of the stairs. Guest access You'll park in the driveway (no garage access or street parking). Other things to note This is a rural area, so there is some wonderful wildlife that visit the yard, like deer, etc. There are black bear in the area, so all trash needs to be placed in the provided red garbage bags and put in the bear-proof trash can.
