The River Retreat

Enjoy a relaxing break at this unique and tranquil getaway, located in the stunning Gellibrand River valley just a short drive from the spectacular 12 Apostles. Hidden away in our little corner of paradise this completely private, cozy fully self contained retreat provides for your every comfort, and features an indoor lounge with a wood fire. It features your own undercover outdoor courtyard, with BBQ and a garden full of strawberries, herbs & flowers. Good WiFi access. The space The River Retreat has a well appointed kitchen with cooktop, kettle, toaster, and microwave. It has a private undercover outdoor area with seating and a BBQ. The ensuite includes a feature leadlight window, shower, hand basin and toilet. A comfortable queen-sized bed is decked out in organic pure cotton linen. You can relax with stunning views over the garden. Guest access The River Retreat is located a short 3.4km drive down a scenic unsealed road, just off the Great Ocean Road. Guests have private access to the River Retreat and are welcome to wander up the drive to pet the animals. Other things to note The area is a tourism hotspot, with the 12 Apostles a short 15 minute drive away. Scenic walks, rainforest, and numerous artisan producers are within a half hour drive. The coastal haven of Port Campbell is only 25 minutes away with a great pub, cafes, shops and a spectacular swimming beach. The River Retreat is located on our small farm, surrounded by lush green fields and a backdrop of the stunning Otways forest. We live with our two small children in a separate house on the property and can usually be found pottering around the garden and sheds. The kitchen is well set up with cooktop, microwave and an outdoor BBQ. Tea, coffee and milk are provided. Longer bookings available upon request.
