Ready, set, go! 😍 According to the Olympic motto of Turin 2006 “Passion lives here,” I have set up this small but fine apartment. Whether hiking, cycling or golfing - here at Lake Wiesen in the beautiful Westerwald there is something for everyone. Welcome!!! Other things to note Update on Wiesensee (as of Feb./spring 2026) The Wiesensee is currently still without water – extensive remediation and desilting works are still ongoing around the lake. The monastery building has already been completed, but concrete repairs to the weir flap and other work on the water infrastructure are currently underway. In order to make the work on the lake bed possible in the first place, the area was also prepared, including by means of drainage ditches. As a result, the lake currently looks more like a military training ground: a dry lake bed, visible drainage ditches and dredging work. The next step involves plans for sludge removal/dredging and maintenance of the lake bed to prevent silting. According to current plans, the reservoir is expected to be refilled in spring 2027.
