Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. This walkout basement studio apartment is 292 sf. It has a full size bed, kitchen and bathroom with a shower. Outside under the deck there is a propane grill, propane fire and a table with chairs. We provide all that you need so all you need to bring are you clothes, personal toiletries, food and drinks. We have 2 1/2 miles of trails on the property that you can explore. There is a brook with a small pond where you can fish and a small waterfall. The space Welcome to water forest retreat! When you arrive we will greet you in the parking area and show you around. This is a 292 ft.² studio apartment located in a walkout basement in our home. The apartment is insulated and has noise reduction ceiling tiles so we will not be able to hear you. We have Frontier Fiber Optic Network for the fastest high speed internet. It is recommended you set your cell phones to "Wi-Fi Calling". There are two USB cords on each side of the bed to charge your phone. Even though it is located in a walkout basement, there is a large window to let in natural light. We live on 56 acres with a brook, small pond and a small waterfall that once had a grist mill back in the 1700s. You can still see the very large stone foundations.. There are 2 1/2 miles of hiking trails throughout the property. The apartment is one room and one bathroom with a full size bed and end tables, full kitchen with beautiful hickory wood cabinets, dining/work area, closet to hang and store your clothes, small couch, TV and full bathroom with a shower. The bathroom has a pocket door. The kitchen is fully equipped with all cooking utensils, oven mittens, microwave, oven, electric can opener, toaster, electric coffee machine, slow cooker pot and a teapot. We also supply some spices, coffee, cooking oil, sugar, creamers along with some instant oatmeal and a bowl of granola bars and chocolate. We do not have cable so you may want to bring some DVDs to watch. We have smart TV access that is connected to Wi-Fi so you can connect to your favorite Netflix, Amazon or other channels. There is a set of headphones available if needed. Directions on how to use the TV and DVD player are on top of the TV cabinet. We have a selection of board games that you can play. In winter, if we have enough snow, we have snow shoes that you can use on the trail. Outside there is a barbecue grill, a propane fire pit, and a table with two chairs tucked away under the deck. There are some tall evergreen shrubs in front to give you privacy. As there is no lighting here, we provide a 1000 lumen lantern. If you smoke, please smoke here. There are 2 1/2 miles of walking trails on the property that you can explore. These are hiking trails only. No mountain bikes or ATVs please. We supply trail maps that are located on the bottom shelf of the cabinet just outside the entrance of the apartment. The trails are marked with wooden signs. There is a brook and small pond where you can go fishing or swimming. We have a fishing pole if you need it. We also have umbrellas and walking sticks. Please bring hiking boots if you plan to walk the trail. Even though there is no air conditioning, the apartment stays at a comfortable 68° to 72° during the summer. If you need a fan just let us know. There is oil heat during the cooler months with a thermostat inside the apartment which you can control. There is a Walmart and Big Y less than a mile away from us if you need to buy food or other things. Bozrah Wine and spirits liquor store is about a mile and a half heading 82 W. and is on the right. We are six minutes away from the Mohegan sun casino and 20 minutes away from Foxwoods casino. We also have a pottery store. Besides pottery we have handmade wooden earrings, dichroic glass necklaces, wooden sushi boards and hand woven scarves.
