Featuring an 1,850 sqft open floor plan, a 5-person outdoor Jacuzzi hot tub, well appointed rustic-chic decor and furnishings, wood-burning fireplace, large fully stocked kitchen with slab granite counters, and stainless steel appliances. The open floor plan offers a large living room with incredible mountain views of St Mary’s Glacier and the Alice valley. The living room includes a large TV and cozy wood fireplace (with plenty of firewood), and connects to the large open kitchen and dining area. Stairs from the kitchen lead to the cozy upper-level loft, a full media room with a walkout hillside sundeck. Enjoy your favorite movies and music from our Sonos surround sound TV system with free Netflix. The primary bedroom has its own TV and is located below the loft on the main level, while bedrooms 2 & 3 are on the lower ground level with access to the front outdoor patio and hammocks (available spring, summer, and fall months only). The attached 2-car garage comes with one available parking space and a garage door remote control to use during your stay. We offer a Level 2 50 amp Electric Vehicle / Tesla charger, and an onsite washer & dryer. 5 PERSON OUTDOOR JACUZZI SPA Rest, relax, and renew your body in the fresh mountain air while soaking in our (non-chlorinated) large private outdoor Jacuzzi spa. Enjoy fabulous views of St. Mary’s Glacier under the star-lit night sky while hydrotherapy jets work-over your sore and tired neck-to-foot muscles from the full-body spa lounger. Set the LED interior colored lights and illuminated waterfall to your desired ambience, peace, and tranquillity. Spa available year round. 3 BEDROOMS & 1 BATHROOM - (1) Primary main level bedroom with king bed, and it's own dedicated TV with Gooogle TV with free Netflix. - (2) Two bedrooms on lower ground level features one king and one double bed. - (1) One full bath with shower/tub on main level for entire home. LOFT & ENTERTAINMENT SPACE The cozy loft movie room on the upper 3rd level is a great place for family and couples chill time. The loft features a large TV, Xbox 360, and Sonos surround-sound system, and has a walkout hillside sundeck. Flat screen TV’s with Gooogle TV / Chromecast are available in the living room, primary bedroom, and loft. Free Netflix, Hulu, Prime, and Max available on all TV’s. Gooogle Nest Hub smart displays are in each of the bedrooms and living room. These displays DO NOT have cameras and are provided as voice controlled smart displays for controlling the main level heat, setting timers / alarm clock, requesting daily weather reports, view scenic photos of the area, and more. Feel free to unplug them if you prefer not to use them. OUTDOOR SPACE Front porch patio table, and 2 double hammocks amongst the forest trees (available May-October only). Hot tub available year round. PRIVATE & EASY LAKE ACCESS Available summer and fall months only, guest amenities include lake access and use of single and double kayaks, a stand up paddle board, and two fishing rods and gear to fish the private residence-only Silver Lake. The lake is a 15 min walk or 3 min drive from the house. Kayaks, SUP, fishing and boat badges are stored right in front of the lake in a small shipping container. (Use requires agreement to our Liability Waiver- just send the host a request to use) NOTE that the lake is frozen from Nov-May, so lake access is available late May-Oct. Colorado CDOT snow chain carrying and traction laws are in effect Oct - May on I-70. PRIVATE HIKING TRAIL Access to a private and secluded (US Forest owned) hiking trail 200ft directly behind home. Private trail offers incredible views, access to see old gold and silver mines. Easy to moderate hike. EXTRA AMENITIES Do you love your morning coffee? We sure do, which is why we have you covered with a coffee station filled with K-cup pods, drip ground coffee, as well as Lavazza Caffè Crema espresso machine, pods, and condiments. A french press is also available for your use. Complementary terry cloth slippers for all guests, and two cotton waffle robes for primary guests. We accommodate early check-in / late check-out requests at no extra charge when possible (available only if there is no same day check-in/check-out bookings). RECREATION, LOCATION, ACTIVITIES St Mary's Glacier Hike- Just a 10 min walk to the popular public trailhead. The moderately difficult hike is only a 35-40 min hike (3/4 mile) to the beautiful and picturesque lake and glacier. Hard core hikers can enjoy an incredible 4-5 hour 8 mile alpine out-and-back hike to James Peak (accessed through St. Mary’s Glacier hike trail). Snowshoes available during winter months. SCENIC DRIVES TO EXPLORE Visit historic and quaint nearby mountain towns of Idaho Springs, George Town, and Black Hawk. Enjoy a concert at the famous Red Rocks outdoor amphitheater. Only a 20-min drive to historic Idaho Springs, 30 min drive to old town Georgetown, and 35 min drive to Black Hawk Casinos. Just 40 minutes to the famous Red Rocks amphitheater. Ski Areas Nearby WinterPark & Loveland Ski Resorts Both resorts are within 45 min to 1:15 hour drive. Yankee Hill 4x4 Off-Road Trail Access Perfect location for folks with ATV’s and 4-wheel side-by-sides wanting to explore Colorado high country. Yankee Hill off-road 4x4 trail access is just 200 yards up Mine Rd from where the house is located. Explore James Peak Wilderness area and back trails to Central City. Ask about our 3 hr guided ATV / RZR side-by-side tours to the best scenic high country alpine locations in the area. I will lead your group on an ATV while you drive and follow behind in our side-x-side 4-seat RZR. $449 for up to 4 ppl. (Available during summer months only) Other things to note Glacier House is located high in the Rocky Mountains at 10,500 ft elevation (1 hr from Denver and only 20 min from Idaho Springs). 4 wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended during winter months. You may need time to acclimate to the altitude (drink lots of water). Our rural mountain getaway experience offers relaxing serenity, outdoor spa, epic hiking, private lake access for fishing, kayaking, and SUPing (summer months only). Close access to Yankee Hill 4x4 ATV trail right up the street. Outdoor jacuzzi hot tub available year round. However, other outdoor amenities such as lake access to use kayaks and fishing gear is only available during summer months (May-September).
