The space We restored this country home to bring modern comfort to the rustic charm of Italian countryside. Entering the house, you step into the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area – a perfect gathering spot. In the summer months, the private pool terrace transforms into an extension of the living space. With comfortable sun loungers, a shaded dining area, and the option to relax by the pool, it becomes a perfect place for outdoor living. Whether you're lounging in the sun, taking in the views while sipping a glass of local wine, enjoying a refreshing dip or an energising waterjet massage – the terrace offers everything you need for a laid-back, outdoor lifestyle. For rainy days, we have a Smart TV with streaming services, a large collection of books and DVDs, and a DVD player. WiFi is available throughout the house, strong enough to support TV streaming or remote work. The kitchen is fully functional with a dishwasher, oven, coffee machine, microwave, fridge, and all necessary cooking utensils, cutlery, and crockery. We love to fire up the outdoor BBQ and dine al fresco on the covered terrace, shaded from the midday sun. Upstairs, you will find three bedrooms: the main bedroom has a double bed, and the second features a bunk bed and is located just off the main bedroom, ideal for families with younger children who prefer to stay close together. The third bedroom is separate and has two single beds. The daybed on the landing is the perfect nook for reading or daytime naps, but can be used to sleep an additional guest. The property includes a large family bathroom with a walk-in shower and a bathtub, as well as a downstairs WC. For added convenience, there is also an outdoor shower by the pool and additional shower and WC facilities in the outbuilding. The house is equipped with wooden shutters on all windows and doors to keep the house cool in summer, and insect screens are fitted on every window and door. Guest access The house sits on fenced private grounds with a private locked gate. Once through the gate, you can drive up right to the door. There is plenty of space to park multiple cars. We will get in touch with you to discuss the details of the meet-and-greet a few days before your check-in. We keep some personal items in boxes with lids under the main bed. Everything else is for you to use, to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Other things to note ‘La Pineta’ is Italian for ‘pine forest’, and that’s the distinctive feature of our property – Mature pine trees frame the garden path, providing shade and a unique balsamic fragrance of pine needles that fills the air. The wilderness of the surrounding Apennine National Park makes the house a perfect hideaway, designed to escape the hectic pace of the modern city life, relax and recharge. We particularly love the strategic location with easy driving access to local conveniences and internationally known attractions. Locally, make sure to stop in Tavernelle just up the hill – Il Capriolo has amazing pizza and the best Aperol spritz. The medieval hamlet of Licciana Nardi is the perfect place for local food shopping, but make sure you catch the morning opening hours: the shops will close for a 3-hours siesta at around noon. Castel del Piano is a lovingly restored castle that now houses a hotel and a working vineyard, and is a short picturesque walk from Licciana Nardi. For a day trip, there are lots of options, here are some ideas: - Lerici on the Mediterranean coast – for sandy beaches, breathtaking views of the Gulf of poets, and delicious seafood restaurants (about 45 minutes); - La Spezia – for a walk on the vast seaside promenade, to explore the city with its shops, museums and open plazas, and take a boat along the coast to admire the world heritage site of Cinque Terre (about 40 minutes to drive to La Spezia; For Cinque Terre boats, look up the schedule, available online, and plan at least half a day for the round trip with several stops); - Pisa – if you don’t yet have a photo with the world-famous leaning tower (just over one hour); - Lucca – for a stroll on top the medieval walls of this famous walled city (just over one hour); - Modena, Maranello, and other renowned Motor Valley locations – for the car enthusiasts (within 1-1.5 hour range); - Fidenza Outlet Village and Serravalle Designer Outlet, two of the largest outlets in Italy – for the lovers of shopping and designer bargains (both within 1-1.5 hour range); - Portofino – for the unmissable experience of the Italian Riviera (about 1.5 hours).
