Description

Ask about our discount for active and retired Law Enforcement! The Aspen Cabin is located just far enough out of town to have that country feel and yet just close enough to run to the store quickly to get that last minute item for the grill! It is nestled in old growth Ponderosa's and on days that it is windy as all get out in Show Low, it stays reasonably calm down at deck and patio level. Traffic and traffic noise is minimal but not non existent. Friday and Sunday afternoon you'll hear the most. This is everyone either coming to the cool pines or regrettably returning to the heat. The back yard has plenty of comfortable, up to date patio seating where you can relax and watch everything from Humming birds to Western Tanagers and whatever other wildlife might happen by. The cabin has no cooling on it because it does not need it. By opening a couple windows in the evening then closing them when you get up in the morning, you'll find the cabin stays cool all day long. Come to relax and enjoy all the White Mountains has to offer from hiking and biking, (Buena Vista trail is a mere half mile away) ATVing, snow skiing, bird watching, to hunting and fishing. The large back deck and patio area is great for kicking back and relaxing while you grill on the provided Charbroil Tru Infrared gas grill with an unobstructed view of the forest Two fixed yet adjustable lighted 11' sun-brellas provide cool shade for those warmish summer days and there's a gas fire pit and a lower level wood fire pit for those coolish nights. You can simply stay here and go no where and enjoy the calming serenity the forest has to offer or just use it to relax after a busy day of activity. Regardless of the purpose of your trip, business to recreation, you'll be sure to find this cozy get away a place to make fond memories. TRAIL INFORMATION: Buena Vista Trail Highlights: The trail follows portions of old logging roads through oak, Manzanita, and pine. Impressive views are available on a clear day Mount Baldy is visible to the east and the Colorado plateau to the north. The terrain is relatively hilly. Seven major uphill sections are challenging on a mountain bike. Chihuahua Pine Connector #638A, This trail is rated difficult for all uses. There are many short, steep climbs. The rock terrain makes mountain biking technical. The trail is named for the Chihuahua pine. Chihuahua pine is usually found at lower elevations and has shorter needles than the Ponderosa, in bundles of 3 rather than bundles of 5 needles.
