Our holiday home used to be a granary - so-called "TROADKASTEN". After careful, loving renovation, it now offers rustic comfort combined with traditional ambience in a quiet location on the sunny side of Obersemlach. The wooden house is located on the southern slope of the Görtschitztal Central Carinthia approx. 15 km from the district town of St. Veit an der Glan and 20 km from Klagenfurt. You can enjoy absolute peace and quiet here at approx. 1100m above sea level and a wonderful panoramic view of the southern mountains of Carinthia. ... enjoy the lightness of being. Guest access The wooden house, 1100m above sea level, is situated on around 750m2 of land with an unobstructed, picturesque view to the south and the mountain Range of Karawanken. Other things to note The holiday home is located in the picturesque area of the former mining town of Hüttenberg. The Hüttenberger Erzberg is a historically important former iron mining area in the northeast of Carinthia. Ore was mined here in ancient times and ended in 1978. You can find out all about it in the show mine and on the mining history educational trail. There is also a mining museum with a mineral show in nearby Knappenberg. The special feature is the Heinrich Harrer Museum with a Tibet department, Buddhist prayer room and Tibetan pilgrimage path. Heinrich Harrer was born in Hüttenberg, was a mountaineer, traveled to Tibet and wrote non-fiction books. In the Hollywood film "7 Years Tibet" his life with the Dalai Lama is told. Brad Pitt plays Harrer in the film.
