With permaculture garden, private beach, protected house reef and free-diving spot. The space There are two bungalows named after famous naturalists who spent time around the lodge’s location: • Alfred Wallace is the larger of the bungalow’s 63sqm with ensuite bathroom walk-in shower, desk space, terrace and chill-out area. • Evelyn Cheesman (This Listing) is 48sqm with a large terrace, spacious ensuite bathroom and shower. Both have unlimited WIFI connection (starlink), King size spring-bed’s with high quality cotton linen beddings, hot shower, 24h electricity and are far enough away from each other not to be disturbed by one another. As an eco lodge, we don’t use AC but have designed the bungalow with through ventilation in mind and have powerful low watt fans. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included within the price. However special dietary requirements or requests must be discussed in advance and there may be an extra cost. Guest access You are able to access everywhere except the team or families private dwellings. Other things to note There are various dive and excursion operators around the area we can suggest depending on your interests and budget. There are visiting dolphins almost daily and turtles, mantas and even whales been filmed jumping clear out the water about 40 meters from the shore. We have a large SUP Board you can use to go to the beautiful unused fish farm next door or fresh water spring for a cool dip Being Raja Ampat the snorkelling is amazing. Jack, who is a diving instructor, met the family who own the land through a conservation program where they and the village agreed a no fishing and anchoring area 4 years ago. It was marked with buoys and we been tending to the reef and corals ever since. If you are coming to Raja for diving you will probably want to visit Cape Kri which is about 25 mins away by boat and easily arranged. However, if you just want to snorkel or are new to diving, you may find enough at the lodge and round the corner at Urai or Friwin (both 10 mins away) to keep you busy. Going inside Kabui bay to the passage, batu pencil and the groups of limestone islands is about 30 mins away and a trip up the beautiful freshwater river is about 20 mins. It's also easy to get to Waisai where there's trips to the Kali Biru or even day trips to Wayag. Whilst Raja Ampat is most famous for having the most marine biodiversity it also has the most fauna and flora biodiversity.
