The Bird and Bike

This little flat, built into the end of our shed, is simple but quirky. Don't expect all brand spanking new plates and cutlery from Ikea - we've upcycled almost everything (except linen and towels). Set 30 metres from the main house, you'll have privacy to come and go as you please, but we love a chat if you do too! We're on 5 acres. Birdlife is right outside your door (- often including our chickens!). We're ten minutes walk from a beautiful estuary beach and 4km from Marlo township. The space The space is made up of three rooms. The bedroom has a double bed, and a lovely outlook. It's really comfy but doesn't have too much room for a lot of storage but there’s room to set up a portacot if you are bringing a bub. Things can easily be stored on the deck or under the bed. There are books, games and a little DVD player (and range of our fave DVDs). The bedroom opens into the kitchen area with a bar fridge and a retro laminex table with two chairs. A wall of vintage fish plates will keep an eye on you from the wall. Note there is no stove-top. There is a rice-cooker, electric frypan, toaster, crepe- maker, airfryer, microwave and smoothie maker. There is a BBQ plate on the fire-pit outside - and BBQ utensils too. But please note this cannot be used during fire restricted season and is removed during this period. There's a coffee plunger (the local cafe in town sells yummy coffee). The bathroom is small with a shower, toilet and tiny basin. The block is five acres of mainly bush. There is a dam down the back which leads to walking tracks which are gorgeous at sunrise and dusk. You’ll hear the surf from your bed. It's a really lovely space. Guest access You are welcome to the flat, the deck of the flat, the paved firepit area, the sitting area to the left of the flat and the grassy area that leads to a track out towards the back of the property. This track will take you to a great walking track - head right for the beach and left for a great walk. Other things to note We have a medium-sized dog who roams the property and is pretty social. She'll visit you and no doubt offer you a stick to throw... again and again. She will never stop. If she annoys you, let us know.
