The space The house is a stately summer "cottage" perched on a viewing hill at the base of Mt. Battie, in the historic district of Camden. Marked with a stone wall entry and surrounded by an acre of landscape and forest, the private setting is perfect for relaxing- just outside of the bustle of town! The room is sun-filled and private, situated at the front of the house where you can enjoy the views. The house boasts several ocean-view common rooms, including a library and a grand parlor - all in period-correct colonial furnishing. Our 80' front porch faces east and is sun-bathed- even in the winter - furnished for gazing at the Penobscot Bay, a favorite spot, shared with our Inn guests Guests can enjoy the town shops and restaurants or take advantage of the many nearby trails -summer and winter, as well as ski and toboggan at the Snow Bowl just outside of town (3 miles). Our location is also perfectly situated for day trips to Bar Harbor and Booth Bay. Guest access Walking is a great pass-time here, and it's a nice walk to town or to water access in the bay. Driving is also an option, the harbor and Camden Hills State Park/ Mt. Battie are approximately 3 minutes drive. During your stay We're always happy to help you plan activities and make dinner reservations or mark up a map of not to be missed sights! We also offer items such as a freshly prepared cheese plate or charcuterie for two, the addition of flowers or chocolates to your room to help make your stay more special or to celebrate a special occasion! Just let us know how we can help! Other things to note This room advertised is one of six rooms in our beautiful and spacious sea-view inn. There are numerous common rooms and outdoor spaces to enjoy. You may be in the company of other guests during your stay and can enjoy engaging with them, but there are is also plenty of space and opportunity to enjoy the secluded respite of relaxing in peace, should you choose! Breakfast: Since our airbb guests are often more independent, we do not charge up-front for the breakfast. However, it is an option!
