Charming Wallingford House

Description

We call this gem "The Loft" because it feels like a downtown loft apartment. It's a century old craftsman house and you'll have it all to yourself. It is conveniently located in the Wallingford neighborhood near I5, bus routes, light rail, UW, and walking distance to several family owned restaurants, bars, shops and a grocery store. We love the globally diverse dining options and the quiet charm that Wallingford offers. We aimed for simplicity, low fees, and comfort. We hope you love it. The space The Loft is the upper half of a craftsman style house built in 1906. In the 1990's it was a wine bar above and a poetry-only bookstore below. The owners of the poetry store remodeled the wine bar into their home with a noteworthy Seattle architect. All of the hard fixtures were handmade by the architects team, from the doors to the many custom cabinets, wardrobes and shoji screens. The owners retired, sold their business, and we are now the proud caretakers of this beautiful space. The Loft is very well insulated from 45th, a thoroughfare between the University to Ballard, and the Puget Sound. You'll quickly forget you're on bustling street and never hear the store patrons below. Most of the shops and restaurants are on 45th and walkable within 5 city blocks. It's close to Green Lake, Tangletown, and Fremont which are also a walkable distance. Parking is a cinch, and getting in and out is easy. It's secured by a locked gated entrance with no access from the bookstore below. There's ample space to spread out, a comfortable office space, laundry, two bathrooms and pull out bed for guests or travel partners. The pull out is not your grandmother's hide-a-bed. It's a firm but comfortable memory foam mattress and the shoji screens provide privacy. There are two outdoor patios, one in a shade garden off the kitchen, and a full-sun option out front. The kitchen is stocked, and there's plenty of space to relax, cozy up by the fire, or entertain guests. Guest access Guests have full access to the second story, patios, and grounds. The bookstore below, Magus Annex, is open from 11am to 7pm daily. You won't hear it and only know it's there as you're entering and exiting the front gate. Other things to note Our goal was to offer guests and alternative to a hotel suite, with more privacy, a better kitchen and dining experience, and unique charm. We only add a small cleaning fee and made check-in/check-out as easy as possible. We offer a progressive discount for weekly/monthly stays. With that being stated, if stays are two weeks and shorter, we will offer supplies to sustain the conservative guest. If supplies do run out, renters will have to supply their own materials after. For stays longer than two weeks, we will offer supplies to guests to get them started with their stay, but guests will be required to purchase their own after our offerings run out. We welcome feedback and genuinely hope you love it as much we do. Registration Details STR-OPLI-23-000382
