‘Oranga’ is situated high in the hills above Kohukohu in stunning native bush. Three separate self-contained accommodations are all unique and styled with guests' comfort and convenience in mind (view on my profile page). It's the ideal spot for a weekend escape to the country or as the midway point to visit Cape Reinga and magnificent Tane Mahuta. We are 6kms from Kohukohu Village (gravel road) and 11kms from the Hokianga Ferry. The space Hideaway - Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space. Rural and native bush views across the valley can be seen from the Hideaway veranda which is sheltered, sunny, surrounded by cottage garden and has a daybed that is perfect for curling up with a book or having an afternoon siesta. Birdsong in the morning, pond life serenades in the evening under a starry Hokianga sky complete an idyllic, experience in nature.Hideaway guest suite is at the back of the main house with a short walk along a gravel path from the car parking area and up a few steps, which is something to note if you do not manage steps easily or have a lot of luggage. There is a queen bed, ensuite bathroom, a kitchen with gas hobs (stocked with basics for cooking a meal), fireplace (for the colder months), lounge chairs and tv. Breakfast cereals, plant based milk, toast bread and dairy free spreads are provided. Guest access The veranda connects the Hideaway and the main house but guests will have exclusive use of it throughout their stay. A spa is located in the garden of the main house and a sauna ( to the left of the magnolia tree) is available for guests’ use. You are also welcome to explore the bush walks we have on the property. Other things to note My husband and I occupy the main house and we will make sure that you have privacy and try to be as quiet and unobtrusive as possible.
