Right on the ski slope or in the hiking area, and yet where the fox and rabbit say good night - a wonderful place to be active and at the same time enjoy the tranquility of the mountain. WE COMPLETELY REBUILT JOHNNY'S OVER THE SUMMER OF 2024! In winter, the snow-covered valley descent to Gaschurn passes almost at the front door, and in summer, various hiking trails and the Versettla cable car, whose middle station is only ten minutes away, are attractive. The space The Maisäß is almost completely built of wood and clay and lovingly-simply furnished. Electricity and running water (cold/hot) are of course available, a wet cell with shower and toilet, two double bedrooms, a cozy attic with two (up to three) beds, a cozy living room with wood-burning stove for heating and a new kitchen with almost every comfort: fridge, freezer, oven, glass ceramic stovetop, Nespresso machine, small dishwasher. The equipment and comfort has changed due to the renovation - the wood heating (electrically supported), the natural and ecological construction and the deliberate absence of TV and Wi-Fi remain the same. Around the house is a meadow, which is temporarily grazed with animals (cattle) in the summer. A small seating area with a fountain, a simple fireplace and a large dining table are available and invite you to enjoy the mountain air, the beautiful view over the valley and to relax. Since the summer of 2025, a newly designed outdoor space has been created; with a seating area, fireplace, small drinking and Kneipp/bathing fountain (if you like mountain spring-fresh) and sun loungers. Guest access The Maisäss now offers about 70 m² of living space, with two bedrooms, an attic, a spacious kitchen, a large living-dining area, shower/toilet and a wardrobe. Available: - 2 bedrooms / 1 attic with bed linen - Fully equipped kitchen (dishes, cutlery, cooking utensils, kettle, dishwashing liquid, cloths, etc.) - bathroom with towels, toilet paper - Wood for heating/grilling (please use sparingly!) - Delicious drinking water from the tap (in summer also from the mountain spring at our own well) Especially in winter, no further luggage should be necessary in addition to personal luggage and food. We have made every effort to provide everything 'like at home' for both our own stays and for our guests! Other things to note Johnny's Maisäß is quietly and secludedly located at 1400 m above sea level high above Gaschurn, surrounded by alpine meadows and forest and offers a wonderful view of Gaschurn in the valley and the surrounding mountains. During the day, the gondola lift can be seen and heard not far from the house, but in the early morning, evening and night there is dreamlike silence. The idyllic wooden house is within walking distance of the middle station of the Versettla cable car - 10 minutes via hiking trail or 15 minutes via a gravel road (downhill). In summer, access by car is generally possible, but a paid permit is required. In order to generate as little traffic as possible for the narrow mountain road, please refrain from using the car on a daily basis and instead explore the beautiful surroundings on foot, by mountain railway or by bicycle. Good public transport connections are set up in the valley. IN WINTER there is NO ACCESS, access is only possible with skis, touring skis or snowshoes; however, due to the location on the ski slope and the proximity to the middle station of the cable car, it is easy. For arrivals by mountain railway, please note the operating hours! The vehicle can be parked at the valley station of the Versettla cable car (note the area for night parking). The building is usually taken over 'cold,' so in winter a warm-up time of 2-3 hours is to be expected. A short briefing is necessary for the correct heating with wood.
