Luxurious 2-BR Waterfront - Villa Velero Trimaran
Charming 2 BR apt on the Water Front
Description
Unique large luxurious 2-Bedroom on the waterfront. You can cast your fishing lure right off your private large terrace. Super beautiful views of the bay of Golfito with pristine tropical landscape and view of the sunset. Optional, you can rent our sailboat for the day, or just a dinghy, to explore the mystique of the Pacific Coast or spend a day on a private sand beach. Near the Golfito center, shop at the tax-free Deposito, or just walk to Mar y Luna resort and other restaurants. The space The apartment consists of 1. two bedroom each with air conditioning, 2. two baths with showers privately connected to the bedrooms 3. One large livingroom and 4. One large terrace right over the water. The concept is that of an open space livingroom and not that of an enclosed space. There is no air conditioning in the living room, but a constant breeze from over the water plus a number of fans. In Golfito the hot season is February through early April, when temperature during the day can reach 31 degrees Celsius (88 Fahrenheit). Then it cools at night down to a comfortable 26 C (78 F). Due to the tropical humidity in the air, an enclosed living space, without air circulating, can create mildew and it is not common. Most locals enjoy living in without having windows. Instead, the apartment combines cool bedrooms with an airy livingroom. Guest access Access to the apartment is private right from the indoor garage. Other things to note Whale watching in Golfo Dulce & Osa Peninsula Costa Rica celebrates THE longest humpback whale season in the world! The warm waters off the Southern Pacific’s Osa Peninsula are Costa Rica’s most popular destination for whale watching. In fact, the Osa is home to the longest humpback whale-watching season in the world! Golfito, Puerto Jimenez, Drake Bay and Sierpe are excellent jump-off points for your whale watching tour, where these incredible individuals spend more than 8 months a year. Not only is the crystalline Pacific home to migrating humpback whales, but there are also huge resident populations of dolphins around the Peninsula de Osa so it’s pretty likely you will catch a glimpse of these playful creatures as well. Our dolphin & whale-watching tours depart daily when there is demand so grab your camera and climb aboard…. you’re in for the adventure of a lifetime! Enjoy the ultimate South Costa Rica eco attraction! Best Time to Visit: Humpback whale migration late July-November Tour Length: 3.5-4 hours Tour includes: Boat transport, Naturalist guide, Snorkeling mask for reef swimming (NOT with the whales!), Drinking water, Snacks (Fresh fruits, chips & dip) Price: $80 per person on a shared tour $420 total for a private tour for 1-5 people (OR $80pp when 6+ people total) Dolphin Tour is guided by Phoebe, a delightful Irish marine biologist who has lived in Golfito for many years. she is fun and knowledgeable just a few docks to our left. She literally knows the local dolphins personally. Still more: Here's a quick idea of how to have fun in and around Golfito. “The Boatman” Captain Geraldo “Botero” Geraldo would be happy to take you out on the water for $200 a day; he can take you to beautiful, secluded coves out on the Gulf, the beaches (Cativo, Pavones, etc.), out where the roads do not go. Ferry to Puerto Jimenez: You can take the ferry (only $12, a 30-minute ride from downtown Golfito) out to the tip of Osa Peninsula. Have lunch at one of the cafes, etc. We recommend seafood soup with coconut! Sport fishing. “Marlin may be found in large numbers from December to April, while tuna are abundant from May to October.” Many different charter companies to choose from. Rent surf boards $10/hr, kayaks $15/hr., rent kayaks or paddle boards, or perhaps better yet take a Dolphin Tour guided by Phoebe, a fun and knowledgeable marine biologist just a few docks to our left. She literally knows the local dolphins personally. Drive to some of the local beaches, such as Zancudo or Pavones. The roads are partly unpaved but are OK. Some of our guests have made the drive itself the main event: photos of monkeys, parrots and other critters. These are not white-sand beaches like the Caribbean, it’s a different ecological zone, near the mangroves. (Take bug juice.) Drive up the mountain road for snacks/lunch along the ridge top above Golfito with spectacular views of Golfito, at a small, private, old-fashioned home-based eatery with friendly local folks. We can give you directions. If you are interested, we can provide more specifics on any of these. Cheers! Note: we’ve upgraded our mattresses by adding a second, soft layer, as some of our customers requested.
