Rustic Wine Country Cottage!

Relax and enjoy the countryside! Historic 1796 Brookdale Farm Guesthouse nestled in the rolling hills of Northern Virginia’s wine country! This quaint, rustic cottage was formerly a schoolhouse located in Hillsboro, Va. In the early 1900's, this building was pulled 11 miles by mule to its current location. Residents of Lovettsville walked along side the mules to watch this local, historic event. The schoolhouse now sits in a neighborhood surrounded by horse farms and mountain views. The space The entrance of the guest house is through the front door. The largest room shares the living space and bedroom, second space is a kitchen and dining area which leads to a full bathroom in the back. There is a queen bed, sofa and chaise. The space is ideal for a couple. The sofa has been comfortable for an adult or a child. The chaise is comfortable for children. Guest access Guests have access to the whole property. Relax and enjoy the fresh air and country views. The stone patio, at the main house, is available for guests to have their morning coffee/breakfast or enjoy a bottle of wine from one of our local wineries while watching the sunset. A fire pit is also available upon request. Just let us know and we can bring up some wood. Other things to note We provide coffee and teas. We are no longer providing breakfast. We are starting with a new flock of chickens who are not yet laying eggs! We have wonderful local restaurants just 2 miles into town. Some serve brunch on Sundays. Our dogs, Russell (black) and Norma (white), roam the grounds. They are friendly but Norma is still a puppy (even though she is quite large) so she jumps up eager to socialize. Just let us know if they get in the way and we will be happy to bring them inside.
