You will be surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest and the abundant wildlife that live in these beautiful mountains. Rainbow trout are here for the fishermen! The home is very private, cozy and relaxing, with a full kitchen, a porch overlooking the river with rocking chairs, and dinner/game table and dartboard. This cabin has two bedrooms and a loft as an additional sleeping room. The cabin will sleep 7 people. The space During the summer months be sure to bring your swim suit and enjoy a refreshing dip in the water. Or use our canoe or kayak, or bring your inflatable floats and take full advantage of this beautiful river. The riverside deck pavilion has a large BBQ grill and is a great place to picnic. Or you can cook on an open campfire next to the pavilion. Or just lay in the hammock and relax to the sound of the river. This property is open year round, and every season has its own allure. The changing of the autumn leaves is something to see in the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee. In the Winter, Beech Mountain Ski Resort is only a 45 minute drive. And giant Watauga Lake is a short drive away and offers sailing, fishing and pontoon boat rentals. The Appalachian Trail is also very close and crosses the dam at Watauga Lake. Trout fishing is excellent here. The land, cabin and the river are very private - and even somewhat secluded - but you will have a modern house that is newly built and fully furnished. The cabin has an overlook porch deck that faces the river, and down by the river there is a picnic deck pavilion situated close to the water. There is also a campfire ring for roasting marshmallows. Not only does the land have a long river frontage along the Elk River, but it also has a long stretch of the winding creek called the Heaton Branch. The river is king, but the branch is also a nice hiking walk. The southern tip of the 45 acre land borders the boundaries with the Cherokee National Forest, so you will have wildlife all around. Guest access You will have access to all parts of the home and anywhere on the 45 acre land. Other things to note The cabin porch deck overlooking the river has a hammock that can be used for nighttime sleeping, or just an afternoon nap.
