Himalayan House with Peaks-View, Urgam, Joshimath

Situated at an altitude of approx. 2100 metres, this 30 year old house has been converted into a Himalayan style mud house made from stones and woods. It is located in the Danikhet Village of Urgam Valley, on the famous Rudranath Trek. Our place is based on the concept of sustainable and community-living. If you want an authentic Himalayan experience with organic food, local culture and nature hikes, this is the perfect place for you. :-) The space 2 rooms will be provided located at the upper floor. One room with a double bed and the other room with 4 single beds. The rooms are built traditionally using stones, wood and a mud coating. Both rooms have a power back-up, WiFi, access to the balcony and a direct view of the himalayan peaks. Since it is a traditinal mudhouse, the washrooms are located outside. Both, the Indian style washroom and the Western style washroom, provide hot water. Our front terrace offers space to practice yoga and meditation in peace. Nestled on the edge of the Himalayan jungle, lots of short treks (1 - 4 hours) start from our property. We look forward to discover the unexplored nature of Urgam Valley with you! :) Guest access The entire house (except other guest rooms) and garden is accessible for the guests. Other things to note You can park your car/motorbike at the main road in Urgam Valley. From there you will need to hike up for approx. 1 kilometer to reach the property. If possible do not bring a suitcase but carry a backbag instead. If you need a porter to carry your luggage then it will cost 200 rupees per item. We provide a heater at an additional cost of 500 rupees per night. We cook daily meals for our guests in the house.
