The Little Gallery House, near Natural Bridge, is part of an old Civilian Conservation Corps Camp, then juvenile detention center, now a campground and artist community, called Thunder BRidge. There are 100 acres to explore, bordering the Jefferson National Forest, with hiking trails and just 2 miles from the James River. This would be an ideal place for family to meet if some of you want to camp and others would like a real house. There is a queen bed and a day bed. The space The living space and beds are all the same room, but the daybed is out of view of the queen bed so there is a little privacy at bedtime. The queen has a firm Memory Foam mattress. The property includes forest, open field, and creeks to play in. The Devil's Marbleyard, via Belfast Trail, is just a mile away. We have James River access 2 miles up the road if you'd like to fish or paddle. The nearby Safari Park and Natural Bridge State Park are just two of the many local attractions. The cottage contains art by the artists whose studios are on the property. Washington and Lee University and VMI, located in Lexington, are an easy 25 to 30 minute drive away. There are a few RV sites close to the Little Gallery House. If you are looking for a dark sky for star gazing you won't be disappointed.
