** Update on Helene Hurricane, River Rock cabin is not damaged and operational ** River Rock is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin located in a private park-like setting on 11 beautiful acres of grassy meadows, waterfalls, and tranquil trout stream. Sleeps 6-8, River Rock offers rustic but modern comfort with WIFI, DirectTVs, heating and air conditioning, fully stocked kitchen (coffee, tea included) and bathrooms. Bed linens, towels, washer and dryer are included to make your stay comfortable. The space If you are looking for a streamside retreat, you will not find a better location anywhere. Elk Creek, which is rated as one of the cleanest in all of North Carolina; runs right in front of this cabin. The sounds of the rushing stream can be heard throughout the property and the decks on River Rock overlook the stream and a gorgeous grassy meadow where deer and other wildlife frequently roam. There is also a gorgeous stone (river rock) fireplace in the living room that creates a very warm and cozy atmosphere. The cabin has its very own fire ring (great for family marshmallow roasts ), as well as access to hiking trails which lead to beautiful waterfalls. There is also a picnic table on the property where you can sit and relax to the sounds of the stream, or have lunch in the middle of the mountains! This mountain retreat offers seclusion with easy access, but yet is convenient to area attractions as it is only 10 minutes off the Blue Ridge Parkway, 10 minutes to horseback riding at Leatherwood stables, 20 minutes to downtown Boone (great for ASU football weekends), 30 minutes to Blowing Rock (excellent dining and shopping) and 30-45 minutes to 4 different ski areas. Other things to note +Pets: We welcome dogs to join you during your visit to River Rock but please note there is a $50/dog fee and 3 dog maximum. The first pet fee will be automatically added in the reservation if you indicate you will be bringing pets, however if you have a second/third dog, this will be an additional fee settled through Airbnb outside of the reservation. The cabin is far from the main road and there is a natural river barrier making the property an excellent place for your furry friends to enjoy the outdoors with you..
