The space Your accommodation will take place in accommodation located in Sítio Araxá, a rural property with more than 84 years of history in the same family. From cultivation and agroecological management, we produce different types of bromeliads, medicinal, ornamental and fruit plants, as well as earthworm humus, crushed pine cones, sweets, jellies and flavored cachaças, processed by hand. In addition to the extensive garden and a good swim in the pool, you can follow one of the 4 different ecological trails. Properly signposted, there is no way to get lost following the directions outlined and, even if some overlap, it will be worth experiencing their particularities. Along the way you will see hammocks, gazebos, coffee plantations, forests, worm farms, production greenhouses, a medicinal plant garden, energy boards for chakra realignment, fish ponds, a spinning wheel and children's swings. According to the Japanese, shinrin-yoku (or 'forest bathing') is an outdoor healing practice. So, make the most of your time here because, as we only offer 2 accommodation options (Suite Paty and Casa do Alferes), we are the right destination for those who enjoy calm, privacy, nature and well-being. In the middle of two Conservation Units: the Environmental Preservation Area and the Palmares Wildlife Refuge, Sítio Araxá is located in the “greenest” and most environmentally preserved neighborhood of Paty do Alferes/RJ, a city in Vale do Café that It once belonged to Vassouras, as did Miguel Pereira, a neighboring city just 12 km away. The natural wealth and topography that surrounds us is also a great attraction for lovers of birdwatching, ecotourism, wild fauna and flora, outdoor activities (trails, trekking, cycling, mountain biking, etc.) and alternative therapies. Here you will find a family atmosphere surrounded by the colors and sounds of nature, ideal for those who need to "reconnect with their inner peace", even if for a few days. Guarantee your reservation and come and enjoy what only Sítio Araxá has to offer. It will be a pleasure to have you here! Guest access Casa do Alferes is located in a separate house, within Sítio Araxá, just 7 km from downtown Paty do Alferes. As we live on the property, we always arrange check-in times with our guests so that we can be attentive to the intercom and opening of the gate. After your arrival, you will have your own access without the need to arrange schedules, except for check-out. Different routes bring you to Sítio Araxá, but it is worth following some guidelines to make your trip smoother and safer! - Juiz de Fora / Sítio Araxá (+/- 170 km, 3h): follow BR 040 towards RIO, until you take the EXIT TO ARARAS (Vale das Videiras) via RJ 117 and go to Paty do Alferes. - Petrópolis / Sítio Araxá (+/- 70 km, 2h): follow BR 040 to EXIT TO ARARAS (Vale das Videiras) via RJ 117 and go to Paty do Alferes, passing through Morro do Fama. - Rio de Janeiro (Leopoldina) / Sítio Araxá (+/- 110 km, 2h15'): follow the Rod. Presidente Dutra sent. SP to EXIT 211 to Miguel Pereira. Follow Rod. Ary Schiavo (RJ 125) to the Centro Cultural Maestro José Figueira, already in Paty do Alferes, and turn right towards Palmares and continue for approx. 7 km. - Três Rios / Sítio Araxá (+/- 50 km, 1h20'): follow BR 393 (Rod. Lúcio Meira), towards Vassouras. At the time of Andrade Pinto take the exit to RJ 125 (Rod. Ary Schiavo), passing through the neighborhood of Avelar (already in Paty do Alferes) towards the Centro Cultural Maestro José Figueira. Turn right towards Palmares and continue for approx. 7 km. *The other option would be to follow RJ 131 passing through Paraíba do Sul, Werneck and Cavaru, until you exit on RJ 125 and do the same stretch (Avelar, Centro Cultural, Palmares). - Vale das Videiras / Sítio Araxá (+/- 15 km, 50'): from RJ 117 go towards PALMARES on the PATY ROAD, but “ATTENTION”! We only recommend this route to those who already know it and are traveling, preferably, during the day because there is very little signage, lighting and lack of signal for mobile telephony and internet in almost its entire length! Also, the road is dirt and very bumpy. Drivers of vehicles with low suspension should avoid it in rainy periods and take extra care. - Vassouras / Sítio Araxá (+/- 50 km, 1h20'): follow RJ 121 to the ROUNDABOUT for Miguel Pereira. Follow Rod. Ary Schiavo (RJ 125) to the Centro Cultural Maestro José Figueira, already in Paty do Alferes, turn right towards Palmares and continue for approx. 7 km. Other things to note Because we are in the middle of a wilderness area, we recommend the use of repellents, sunscreen and closed shoes for the trails. Within a 1 km radius of the site there are 2 small markets and 1 restaurant, which offers homemade food for lunch (but you have to arrive early because the demand is high). For other services, the best option is to shop in downtown Paty do Alferes, before taking the road to the ranch because there are no services such as a bakery and pharmacy in our neighborhood. Even at night there are few delivery options (snacks). It is worth mentioning that Ecopousada Araxá is only 7 km from the city center, of which approx. 2 km are paved and the rest are dirt roads in good condition (which only happens when we have days of heavy rain). Important: Note 1 - We do not recommend access by side roads due to the lack of cell phone and internet signal, as well as poor signage and lighting. Note 2 - In periods of heavy rain, please consult us about road conditions so that your trip is smooth from start to finish. Count on us for the best guidance in this regard. We want you to take good memories from here. We look forward to seeing you!
