Description

This ski-in and ski-out traversing corner apartment with large terrace and balconies front and rear, is ideally situated in central La Tzoumaz, at the southern end of the building right next to the main telecabin departure point. The supermarket, restaurants bars and children's playground are all just a few steps away so there's no need to bring a car if you don't want to. Sleeping up to 5 people, the apartment has one bedroom and one bathroom. The space The open bedroom design allows up to 5 people to sleep comfortably in the same room.  A curtain separates the double bed area (with double bed, built-in wardrobe, bedside table) from the bunk area (with three bunk beds and double glass doors leading to the rear balcony).  Please note that the upper two bunks are not suitable for young children. The bathroom is equipped with a bath with a hand shower, sink, hairdryer, and WC. Equipment The main area of this bright apartment is an open kitchen/living/dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need for family catering, including a microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, filter coffee machine, kettle, toaster, oven, hob, and refrigerator. There are fondue and raclette sets for a traditional Swiss evening in front of the mountain views. Each room is fitted with thermostatically adjustable central heating radiators. There is a shared (coin-operated) washing machine and dryer available in the building, along with a shared ski-storage room.  Relaxing Coming home from a day in the mountains, it is a real pleasure to ski (or mountainbike) right back to the apartment and onto the terrace! During the sunnier months you can follow the sun during the day, starting with coffee on the large morning terrace or a mid-morning rest in the hammock, lunch on the south-facing lawn, and perhaps an afternoon glass of wine on the rear balcony. There's plenty to see out of the windows at all times, from skiers or mountainbikers enjoying the last few runs, to visitors wandering in and out of the Tourist Office below the apartment, or watching for an empty table to appear at the restaurant opposite. On a blue-sky day, the view stretches 20km, to the peaks of the Haut de Cry and the Mont Gond, and in the other direction over the telecabon building towards the legendary Vallon d’Arby and its un-pisted ski itinerary. If you are in need of distraction, there is a flat-screen TV and an electronic piano. Pets We would be delighted to welcome your pets to Apartment Savoleyres 31. Please note that in order to cover supplementary cleaning costs, pets are charged at a rate of 50chf payable on arrival. If you are travelling with more than one large or two small dogs, please contact us to ensure we will be able to accommodate them. Please note that the balcony terrace is not fully fenced, and leads to a grassy space at the side of the building.  There is a single parking space reserved for the apartment in the shared car park area underneath the building. Additional parking spaces are available in the free outdoor public car park 300m down the road. Winter tyres and/or snow chains sometimes necessary to reach the village in winter due to frequent snowfalls, however chains must be removed before entering the car park underneath the apartment building. From here an elevator takes you up to the second floor, where you will find the apartment.  There is an additional pedestrian/skier access at the rear of the building. The apartment is a 1-minute walk from the bus stop, supermarket and children's playground. Car not necessary due to proximity to ski-lifts, restaurants and supermarket - contact us for airport or railway transfers. Other things to note The centre of La Tzoumaz benefits from an outdoor ice-skating rink in winter, and a children's playground area in summer, with a rope-based agility park alongside more traditional equipment such as slides. A fun channel system with running water is built into the hillside to provide plenty of entertainment for older children too. At the exit of the village the Domus playground is a fabulous spot, often bathed in late afternoon sunshine, with swings, a zipline, see-saw, climbing frames and even old tractors to clamber on. It is overlooked by an outdoor cafe (check opening hours) providing drinks, snacks and ice-creams. There are rabbits, donkeys, goats, and there is also rock-climbing on the local crag in the background (contact us for equipment and instructors). The Maison de la Foret has a cafe area for drinks and snacks (check opening hours), wildlife exhibitions and its Five Senses Nature Trail with hands-on activities to borrow such as bird-whistling and learning to draw. The Nature Trail has disabled parking and is accessible to wheelchairs and children's buggies.
