Known as the birthplace of the Bomba dance, Loíza offers an authentic Afro-Puerto Rican cultural experience. Don’t miss the live Bomba rehearsals every Sunday at Puente Herrera, just a 3-minute drive or short walk from the complex—an unforgettable, rhythmic celebration of heritage. You’ll be just 35 minutes from San Juan and 15–20 minutes from El Yunque Rainforest. You can even admire El Yunque’s lush mountains right from the complex, where tropical birds and butterflies add to the magic of this complex. While I’ll do my best to resolve any disruption, please note that these are outside the host’s control. • Peak hurricane season is usually mid-August through September, and the hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th. Good news is that we have been very fortunate missing major hurricanes last year (2024). However, as a precautionary measure you should always consider travel insurance or plan accordingly. • Travel insurance is highly recommended as a precaution.
