Whether you're looking for outdoor adventure, waterfront dining, or a peaceful place to unwind, you'll find it all within a short drive—or right outside the front door. Waterfront Adventures Walk the beach at low tide, dig for clams, or simply relax while watching seals, eagles, and passing boats. Launch kayaks and paddle across the bay for dinner at Lennard K's Boathouse, then stop for seasonal ice cream before paddling home. Bring your own boat or paddleboard and explore the water. Hiking & Nature Discover miles of scenic trails at Twanoh State Park, Scenic Beach State Park, and the Olympic National Forest. Hike Mt. Ellinor for breathtaking views, or choose one of many family-friendly forest and waterfront trails nearby. Explore tide pools, waterfalls, old-growth forests, and some of Washington's most beautiful scenery—all within an hour. Food & Drink Enjoy fresh oysters at Hama Hama Oyster Saloon, local seafood, waterfront restaurants, wineries, breweries, and cozy coffee shops. Treat yourself to a spa day or dinner overlooking Hood Canal at Alderbrook Resort. Pick up local pizza, seafood, or fresh groceries and enjoy dinner on the deck while watching the sunset over the water. Charming Nearby Towns Gig Harbor (30 minutes): A picturesque waterfront town filled with restaurants, boutiques, galleries, museums, and a beautiful harbor promenade. Poulsbo (35 minutes): A charming Scandinavian village with bakeries, shops, and waterfront parks. Port Gamble (20 minutes): A beautifully preserved historic mill town perfect for walking, shopping, and dining. Perfectly Located for Exploring Our home makes an ideal base for exploring Western Washington: 20–35 minutes to Gig Harbor, Hood Canal, golf courses, wineries, and state parks. About 1 hour to Olympic National Park, Tacoma, Olympia, and Sea-Tac Airport. Approximately 90 minutes to downtown Seattle by ferry or car. About 2½ hours to Portland. After a day of exploring, you'll return to one of the best parts of the trip—quiet evenings on the deck, spectacular sunsets over the bay, and the peaceful sounds of the water just outside your door. **Other Things to Note** Dogs are welcome at the house (a $50 per pet cleaning fee applies), but not in the refurbished shed. Please be mindful of all animals and children near the water, especially on the boat ramp, as it can be very slippery. We provide two portable cribs, crib sheets, and an assortment of children's toys and utensils to make travel easier for you. For dogs, we have a large dog bed, water/meal bowls, and a chuck-it that you may borrow during your stay. Please be respectful of our neighbors and leash dogs when on the beach.
