Beautiful rustic hand-hewn logs warm the inner space of the cabin and provide a fragrant smell of pine. Laurel Ridge Cabin is completely surrounded by dense rhododendron and oak trees on a private 4 acre lot and sits perched above the New River. The space With three bedrooms and two full baths, the cabin can accommodate up to six people. Six adults will be tight but possible; with 4 adults plus kiddos as the ideal size. Cook your meals in a fully-equipped kitchen or on the charcoal grill, and enjoy the living area complete with wood burning fireplace. Modernists will appreciate the FIBER internet connection and digital TV services (Hulu live TV, NetFlix, Amazon Prime). After all your adventures downtown and out in the wilds of the High Country, you’ll surely appreciate relaxing by the river or setting on the rocking chair covered front porch of the Laurel Ridge Cabin and its romantic old mountain charm. You’ll find everything you need just waiting for you to arrive and settle in. Guest access CABIN - You will have full access to the whole cabin (3 bedrooms; 2 baths) with the exception of an owner's closet. RIVER - Our property is not directly riverfront. A private farmhouse and barn sit between the cabin and the river, so there is no direct river access from the cabin. If you need immediate river access, this may not be the right fit. Todd Island Park is nearby, farther upstream on Todd Railroad Grade Road and easy river access is right upstream at the Liberty Grove Church bridge. Other things to note WINTER WEATHER - During the winter months, 4WD or AWD is required to safely access the cabin due to unpredictable weather and snowfall. FIREWOOD - We do not have a dedicated supply of firewood for guests. You are welcome to bring your own (please store outside and bring in as needed; we want to avoid introduction of pests into our home). FIREWOOD SERVICE - Our neighbor can provide firewood upon request and deliver a large coffee bean burlap bag full of hand-split wood to the cabin for $20. Please inform us ahead of time if you would want this service. CAT - We have a very friendly 'neighborhood' cat named "Wayne". He lives below us in the farmhouse and does not live at our cabin. To prevent allergy related issues for future guests, please do not allow inside the home at any time.
