*The Anchorage is a traditional Greek cottage that has been sympathetically refurbished to suit the needs of 21st century travellers. It is the ideal place for a couple looking for a quiet, romantic getaway within a stone's throw from a beautiful, golden beach. A gentle, 20 minute stroll brings you to the Venetian castle of Koroni and beyond lies the shops and amenities of the town. Along the harbour there are cafes and tavernas. Koroni is a thriving community with an Arts/Music Festival. Concerts and exhibitions are arranged from May to October. this area of the Peloponnese benefits from a sunny climate with blue skies and a quality of light that inspires local artists. It seldom rains in July and August and with the temperatures over 25 degrees it has a near perfect climate from April to October. Koroni benefits from direct flights with Easy Jet from various airports in Europe to Kalamata and Athens. If coming into Kalamata it is a 45 minute drive to the property, car hire is available at the airport , alternatively buses stop outside the airport. Athens international airport is 3.5 hours away by car using a very good motorway system. The cottage is used by the owners for a significant period of the year and as a result it feels more like staying in your own home than a holiday let. The property is surrounded by a large balcony which is partly shaded. It is a lovely place to sit and enjoy a meal whilst taking in the view of the bay and the Taygetos mountains beyond. The well stocked garden has a shaded seating area and there is off road parking with shade.. Within the cottage there is everything you could need, fast speed broadband, a washing machine, a very well equipped kitchen, air conditioning and a barbecue.. Zaga beach, just two minutes down a path from the cottage, is home to nesting Loggerhead turtles. The clear, turquoise waters of the sea are inviting for early morning swims or to cool down later in the day. On the beach there is a windsurf centre for guests who feel more active, details in the cottage. Bikes can also be hired, details in the cottage. The Anchorage is a truly romantic hide away.
