Mountain Cabin- Border state park, trails, private
Mountain Cabin Bordering State Park. Hiking, Private. Special Place, Great View!
Description
Tucked in the forest near the end of a dead end dirt road this cabin sits on a ridge with awesome views and sounds of a creek below. Fully renovated interior in 2021 yet keeping its rustic charm. Peaceful and quiet nestled against Camels Hump State Park, but still the luxury of high speed internet. Master bedroom has large picture window towards the forest with the creek below. Enjoy morning coffee on the porch with its beautiful south eastern exposure. Minutes from Waterbury and Waitsfield The space This cabin has only been used for the occasional weekend over the last 15 years and had fallen into major degradation. We moved into it in the early winter of 2021 and performed a complete renovation of the interior. The large new deck (2025) offers plenty of seating for relaxation and meals while enjoying its stunning views and beautiful forest setting against the Camel's Hump State Park. Located towards the end of a dirt road one can hear the relaxing sounds of the creek below the property. One can access hiking trails right from the house or drive a short distance into Waterbury, Stowe, or the Mad River Valley. A large picture window in the master bedroom offers views of uninterrupted forest down to the creek. The views from the living room are big and southeast facing with excellent morning sun. The loft offers an additional space for kids or the extra couple that may be joining. One has the option of the loft bedroom to have the beds as two singles or brought together to make one king. The porch, with table and chairs, is a great place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or dinner on a warm evening. Amazing east views for the morning sun! Live edge locally harvested wood countertops are featured in this freshly remodeled and bright kitchen that opens into the living room. This is a great getaway in one of the best parts of Vermont. The propane fireplace is controlled by a thermostat, or can easily be turned on to enjoy a cozy ambiance. There is also a firepit outside to enjoy campfires. Unfortunately we no longer allow pets. Guest access This cabin is nestled up right by Camel's Hump State forest. It's at the end of a dirt road up on a hill. The last climb is steep. In mudseason, you may have to just drive a little slower. In winter it is generally very well plowed and sanded. In the event that the plow hasn't yet plowed and sanded during snow storms or icy conditions, 4 wheel drive, all wheel drive or chains may be needed. At least good studded winter tires, if none of the above. This is Vermont and we are full of back dirt roads and are accustomed to the mountain life and all that that entails! We love to enjoy it as well, so snow storms are always a celebration here! After all, we have more miles of snowmobile trails in Vermont than paved roads and we are nestled between multiple ski mountains!
