The space Inside The Grand Chateau, you will find a modern, luxury take on the classic alpine lodge. Built in 2013, "The Grand" (as it's known in the community) provides all of the flavor of Big Bear but with a Modern Flair. Centrally located off of Big Bear Blvd, it's easy to find and travel to. LIVING SPACES The Sitting Room upfront is an ideal central hub for warming up after a day on the slopes or trails. Mix a cocktail, light a fire in the natural gas fireplace, and recline on the sectional sofa with friends and stories past and present. The Family Room off of the kitchen is a great place for kids to play games, eat a snack (either there or at the Carved Wood Bar), talk to the Chef, or relax on the sectional sofa. Relaxing next to the kitchen isn't all that bad, now is it? :). And with an Xbox Series X, it's more fun! (Bring your games or DVD's or digital account! If you don't have a digital account, you'll need to create one.) The Game Room features an air-hockey table, billiard table, sectional sofa with recliners, 2 pub tables, large 85" OLED flat screen tv, fridge, darts, and digital touch-screen Jukebox! A great place to wind the time away when not out and about. And there's A/C and Heat! COOKING AND DINING The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked for serving small and large gatherings, featuring stainless appliances, gas stove and oven and a large fridge w/ice maker. A feast-worthy 12-person dining table is next to the kitchen (seats 12) and is actually in-between the kitchen and Sitting Room, so a fire can be on whilst you dine. On a clear day, nothing beats grilling your tasty treats out on the Main Deck with a Blaze Pro 34" Grill and Side Burner. Views that go on forever, you will enjoy your time with your group outside in the best outdoor area for miles. SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS & BATHROOMS Each of our beds are genuine Serta Sleepers, boasting pillow tops, high thread-count sheets, excellent bedding... bathrooms everywhere with the two Masters featuring their own ensuite accommodations. The first floor features the downstairs Master Suite, along with a Guest Suite for adults or children. Walk-in showers, and the Master features a large walk-in closet and tub. Master Suite has deck access for a late-night nightcap if desired... The second floor features the upstairs Master Suite, along with two Guest Suites. The upstairs Master has a walk-in shower, tub, large walk-in closet... the two Guest suites share a Jack-And-Jill bathroom suite and all rooms have deck access. We are pleased to offer a large Samsung washer/dryer (and detergent pods) for your convenience. ALL FIVE BEDROOMS HAVE ONE STATIONARY BED. WE ALSO HAVE FIVE TWIN-SIZE ROLLAWAY BEDS. THIS ARE A TOTAL OF TEN BEDS. :) OUTDOOR AMENITIES We saved the best for last: The Grand Chateau features THREE decks, majestic views of the beautiful mountain sky, 8-person hot tub, professional built-in grill, seating areas, firepit, electric heaters on two decks... also a large yard (non-gated) for your furry friends (should you choose to bring them). The Grand Chateau is centrally located near Big Bear Blvd. and Division Road in Big Bear Lake. Easy access to everywhere, minutes to the ski resorts, a short-drive to the Village, lake, marinas... About 5 minutes to the Big Bear Discovery Center for hiking, learning about Big Bear, or 4-wheel driving on some wonderful trails (Bring a lunch and camp out during your trail riding!). Also, don't forget the Big Bear Zoo, great for the little (and big) ones! :) If you don't feel like venturing out on the mountain there's plenty to do in the Chateau. Gourmet cooking, relaxing with several large-screen tv's, Game Room, hot tub, firepit... you get it... Plus, we have a sauna that's disconnected, but we now consider it a 'kissing booth'. :) Concierge Service is available. They will meet and greet you at the home upon your arrival. THINGS TO NOTE: RESPECT NEIGHBORHOOD TRANQUILITY Disturbing the peace of a residential neighborhood you are occupying is a city ordinance violation. Please keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 10 pm and 8 am. ABIDE BY OCCUPANCY LIMITS (MAX 16) This property features the largest amount of people authorized in Big Bear Lake (16). PARK CARS APPROPRIATELY (MAX 4) Only park on the concrete driveway. HVAC: Our settings limit the a/c to 72 degrees, and the heat to 80 degrees. Big Bear Lake Law Requires ALL RENTERS MUST DISPOSE OF THEIR TRASH AT BIG BEAR TRASH SITE Clean Bear Trash Site 41974 Garstin Road / Cross streets are Big Bear BLVD and Garstin/Moonridge (West) . The trash site is located on the right side about 2 blocks down on Garstin. Please wash your dishes - either by hand or with the machine. There is a fee if you leave this task for the cleaners. Please use the included grill mats for grilling on the bbq - there is a fee if you cook directly on the grill. Plus, the mats keep your food away from the last guests food.. :) Guest access NOTE: You will meet with a representative for guest check-in at the home. We'll go over important details, get a copy of your ID, and then you'll sign the Good Neighbor sheet for Big Bear Lake. You then get the run of the place! :) Other things to note *The hot tub can be fun, but slip-and-fall accidents happen because people are either running or not being careful. Please be mindful to BE CAREFUL around water - remember, SLIPPERY WHEN WET, so no running or horseplay - and if you have children, supervise them, please!!!! :) *Unlike other local homes, this home has TWO a/c and heating systems... so during Summer, you can get cool with our HVAC systems! :) *High-Speed WiFi is provided - Cable TV is not. If you have streaming services, please log in and access your accounts that way. And the X-Box will work the same way - with you logging into your account and then playing on our device. :) *We have cameras on the property - only outside, of course. *The City of Big Bear Lake DOES allow events to happen at select rental homes, so if you want to have an event or large gathering, we need to get permission from the City directly. We need at least 60 days notice and there may be a City fee for granting the permit. Inquire prior to reservation. For those that have a disability: We do not have ramps at the home, nor do we have ADA-compliant showers, nor do we have an ADA-approved lift for the spa. Per Title 42 of the U.S. Code 12111, Sub-Chapter 2, it specifically defines the term "Covered Entity" as an employer, employment agency, labor organization, or joint labor-management committee. Because we are none of these things, and because this residential home is private and not a hotel / establishment with six rooms or more, we are not set up properly to accommodate someone with a disability in which extra provisions would need to be on site to help with their stay.
