SKIPPER COTTAGE unit number 1
Description
Skipper is a stand alone cottage: a large 450 sq ft efficiency with 50 sq ft deck. Queen bed, mattress is a Marriott Silver Beauty Rest & full futon along with full kitchen & shower bathroom. The property is all fenced for Skipper, my Portuguese Water Dog. Skipper was the captain of our boat Skedaddle. The yard is very lush & green, seems like a mini rain forest in town. Our place is 'old' Caribbean, wooden cottages, no concrete. Skipper & Skedaddle are two identical cottages next to each other. The space These are open-air cottages, totally screened in, as shown in photos. Trees surrounding, as if your in a treehouse. There is NO A/C & NO TV to distract you from the beautiful nature of St John. I have lived here for 50 years, so the yard is ‘old school’ St John. Guests enjoy listening to the sounds of the birds & frogs. Only a 5-10 minute walk into Cruz Bay. 200 feet from ocean, 3 minute walk to swim in Frank Bay. Off street parking is available but car is not necessary. In-season there is very limited parking at National Park beaches. Guest access We live on the property & like to greet each guest. We want to welcome you & make you feel at home while here. Also, that gives me the opportunity to tell you a few things about the cottage. Plus, to go over the map & show you the beaches, hikes & restaurants. You’ll have access to all areas surrounding the cottage. Other things to note There is a large West Indian Almond tree located between both cottages. People are NOT throwing rocks at the cottages. it is just falling almonds. Which can wake you up sometimes. Also, these are open cottages & you can hear life around; the waves of the ocean, frogs at night, morning doves cooing, roosters in the morning (sometimes at 3am). Although, we are not far from town, separated by a large hill, this is still town with the noises of a town. So bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to sounds.
