Just a few kilometers from the famous fishing village of Greetsiel and the North Sea coast with the Wadden Sea National Park. The city of Emden and the connection to the A31 motorway are about 15 minutes away by car. “Highlight” is the short distance to the dry beach Upleward. This extends over an area of 9,000 square meters and offers lounging areas, volleyball fields, free beach chairs, a large children's playground, kite surfing, gastronomy and much more. The "Huus an`t Dörpdiek" is located on the edge of the old village of Hamswehrum, only 1500 m from the dyke and Wadden Sea. From here, you can easily start hikes, bike rides and excursions by car to the surrounding area and beyond. It is 2500 m to the swimming spot with the newly landscaped dry beach, easily accessible by bike. In Pewsum, 5 km away, there are supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, pharmacies and doctor's offices. The picturesque old fishing village of Greetsiel is about 8 km away, Emden about 12 km and North/Norddeich about 25 km. Excursion destinations: Car Museum with beautiful classic cars and a cafe. (Ostermarscher Str. 29, 26506 Norden) Waloseum, a museum where the skeleton of a sperm whale that washed ashore off Norderney a few years ago is on display.
