Welcome!! Enjoy a relaxing country view from every window of our vintage 1910 ranch house. Hang out and enjoy our family ranch. Or take a break just minutes away in historic downtown Kalama and the Columbia River waterfront including parks, beaches, walking trails and the popular McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge which hosts free outdoor concerts and films in the summer. The space The house is mostly original but freshly painted with new beds, linens, etc. It is a vintage working ranch house with a few extras like high ceilings, vintage light fixtures, and a claw-foot tub. It truly is an escape but very close to Interstate 5, Portland, Oregon, and Mt St Helens. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom, and a separate dining room. With both a covered front porch and covered sun porch you can enjoy the outdoors year round. We have ping-pong, corn hole, croquet, and horseshoes as well as indoor games. WINTER STAYS: This house has lovely, original wavy-glass windows that give views a watercolor-like feel, and it's magical in the snow. However, the house is very drafty. We have insulated curtains and blinds, but when outdoor winter temperatures drop to freezing, it is hard to keep the house heated to 68 degrees. There are plenty of extra blankets, but please be aware and prepared. Guest access You will have access to the entire main floor of the house. The second floor is an unfinished attic. Other things to note Because this is a working property, we do require a signed contract that outlines safety and security requirements. We're happy to share this ahead of time if you send an enquiry. The final agreement will be sent for signature via a digital link, and we do require a copy of your government issued ID. DOGS - Well-behaved dogs are permitted only if arranged in advance. There is a $25 fee per dog / per visit (not per night) which will be charged after the booking is confirmed. An addendum to the rental contract, which outlines house rules for dogs, must be completed. We're happy to send this in advance for your review if you will share your email address.
