Description

Welcome to the Treehouse Retreat & "Hobbit Hole," a unique house designed by its owner specifically for hosting on Airbnb! Enjoy multiple floors, plenty of extra space, wooden & rustic interiors, fun features like a 45ft spiral staircase, a round door, a wood-burning fireplace & nearly-endless views of the treetops. We tried as hard as possible to avoid cutting down surrounding (in some cases, 200+ year old) trees, and to keep it naturally immersive. Close to nature, lakes, the city, and more! The space The "tree top" suite is the highest room in our retreat. You will have direct access to its private, open-air balcony where you can enjoy your morning coffee amongst trees as tall as 100+ feet. The suite & common area has everything to make you feel at home, it can accommodate two people with a queen size bed, has a large closet to store your belongings, and a spacious bathroom with double sinks. This bedroom comes with your own remote-controlled heating and cooling system (mini-split) so you can regulate the temperature to your own preference. You will also also have access to the "Hobbit Hole" room, 4 floors below - this comes with a functional round door that opens into the room, along with two single beds and another private bathroom (tub / shower included). Above the "Hobbit Hole" floor is another studio-like floor, that includes a large OLED smart TV, a small workspace, and a "nook" with another queen bed & beautiful view of the trees (in nearly all directions). While staying with us, you will have access to other areas of the house, you are free to use our kitchen (espresso coffee and tea at your disposition), you are welcome to hang out in living room area with the fireplace, eat in the window room, enjoy any of the balconies around the house (there are a few), and relax in the "bonus floor" below the kitchen floor - which comes with a large flat screen TV, an iMac, books & games. We are 15-20 minutes drive from Raleigh downtown, 14 minutes from Cary (only 7 minutes to Crossroads), 5 minutes to Lake Wheeler, even less to Apex. Free parking on the premises, the area is very safe and far from the main road with a gate at the entrance and a small bridge you will drive over to get to the house. We do have a small, very friendly mini dachshund named Sherlock (he’s in a few of the photos) who stays in the house but is restricted to the main floor only. Feel free to reach out with any questions! Guest access The entire house except the turret room (where the owners live) During your stay Available by phone, text, email, or Airbnb app and will typically be on the premises Other things to note The house is on a steep hill. It is possible to walk and / or drive up and down the driveway, but you might be more comfortable with us picking up yourself and your luggage from the bottom of the hill, and you can walk down to your cars anytime. If you’d like to use the driveway you can, just let us know in advance, and note that it can be stressful backing down!
