Great relaxing getaway, with gorgeous views. TV w/DVD player and Chrome Cast in the living room and WiFi throughout the cabin. Game room on lower level has a TV, pool table and ski ball game. Hot tub on the back porch. Enjoy a nice cup of coffee/ tea while looking at the great view on the front porch, or relax while reading a good book in the hammock or Sky Chair. Master bedroom has a queen size bed. Open loft over the living room has a queen size bed. Day bed with trundle located on lower level/ game room. Gas logs in living room, propane heater in master bedroom and lower level, and an electric heater in bathroom. Window AC units in kitchen/ living room, master bedroom, and lower level during warmer months. The private road leading up to the cabin is an uphill gravel / dirt road. A 4-wheel drive vehicle may be needed during winter, with heavy snow. While I am a dog lover and a dog owner, I understand that not all of our guests are (and neither is our cleaning crew). Therefore, NO PETS/ ANIMALS are allowed. Approximate drive times to nearby towns: West Jefferson- 20 minutes; Boone- 30 minutes ; Blowing Rock- 40 minutes; Banner Elk- 55 minutes. Approximate drive times to nearby attractions: Sugar Mountain Ski Resort- 55 minutes; Beech Mountain Ski Resort- 1 hour, 15 minutes- Appalachian Ski Mountain- 40 minutes- Hawks Nest Snow Tubing- 55 minutes; Tweetsie Railroad- 35 minutes. No third-party booking allowed. The individual booking the reservation must being present during their stay. Guests may access the entire cabin. There are a few locked cabinets and a locked refrigerator in the cabin that is used for our personal storage. We ask that you respect our privacy and do not attempt to enter/ open these storage areas. Guests can make contact by phone or text. Cabin is located at the end of a private dirt road/ gravel driveway. One other cabin is located along the private road, but there is plenty of privacy. You will need a vehicle to access the cabin and to get to/ from town. If coming from US 421, it is best to take US 221 to Idlewild Rd and then Dick Phillips Rd. GPS unit direct you to take a different route, but the roads that way can be a bit precarious. The private road leading up to the cabin is a gravel / dirt road. If staying for one week or longer, the hot tub will be serviced during your stay. We will contact you to coordinate a convenient time for this service. There is an outdoor security camera, facing the driveway.
