The space Hi, we are Tom & Lindy and we love creating beautiful one-of-a-kind indoor and outdoor spaces for ourselves to enjoy that we also let others enjoy through Airbnb. My background is in architecture and creating and building beautiful spaces and Lindy’s background is in international furniture and interior design. HERE ON OUR 55 ACRE PARK-LIKE COUNTRY ESTATE FARM WE HAVE CREATED AN OASIS FOR FAMILIES OR CLOSE FRIENDS TO COME SPEND TIME TOGETHER IMMERSED IN NATURE IN A BEAUTIFUL AND SERENE SETTING. Our guests on our park-like estate have COMPLETE PRIVACY and normally will not see us unless we are picking up the trash from the guests' outdoor cans or cleaning the pool or watering the outdoor flowers or out riding our mountain bikes on the farm. Another reason you are unlikely to see us is because we are usually staying at one of our other homes or off traveling. We are very friendly and sociable people but if we do happen to be staying on the farm during your visit but WE PUT A PRIORITY ON GUEST PRIVACY and letting our guests have all the privacy they want to do whatever their ideal vision of staying on our park-like country estate is, whether it is to come here and kick back and relax and take yourself out of gear or whether it is to come here and kick yourself into gear and crank up your music and have a good time (as long as any alcohol you enjoy during having a good time is SERVED AND CONSUMED RESPONSIBLY since we do not allow any over-severing or over-consumption of alcohol to occur on our property and as long as any overly loud music is cranked up indoors and not cranked up overly loud outdoors since overly loud outdoor sound can travel to our neighbors here in the country). One of the outdoor highlights of our guest accommodations is the huge private salt water pool for guests and the hot tub and fire pit in the guest pool area. Enjoy the long range views out over the pasture as you enjoy the pool area. If anyone in your group likes to fish we have some elusive and challenging bass (up to 15 pounds) in the pond as well as smaller bass that are a lot easier to catch. Want to go for a walk or run? Our private roads and the trail through the woods mean you will enjoy a walk or run surrounded by nature. Moving from what the outdoors is like to the indoors, the first floor of the guest area has a beautiful open concept kitchen/dining area with 10’ and vaulted ceiling overlooking the oversized private pool. There is also a Queen guest bedroom suite with attached bath on the first floor but the first floor queen guest suite is not barrier free for anyone with mobility issues and has four exterior steps and it is not directly connected to the rest of the guest space so is not ideal for anyone with mobility issues but it works great for anyone in your group that wants a little bit of autonomy and privacy from the rest of the group. Two King Suites and a Queen suite and the guest laundry room with large front-loading washer and dryer along with TWO private living rooms are on the second story of the guest area. One of those living areas is a media room with a 70 inch flat screen TV. On the third story of the guest acommodations is a King bedroom suite and a Twin over Queen bedroom with a one of a kind live edge bunk bed for a total of 6 guest bedrooms. Your large and PRIVATE POOL AREA is sequestered by the angles and offsets in the home design and located well away from the owner’s area (the owners area is at the opposite end of the estate sized home from the guest area and of course has its own private entries and porches and parking area) which means guests have complete privacy even when they are in the pool or hot tub. The guest Hot Tub is always drained and refilled between groups of guests so you can enjoy it with peace of mind that it is new fresh water. The pool area also has a large fire pit and huge curved outdoor sofa and there will be firewood and a "starter log" ready for you to light each night during your stay. Guests also have a large screened porch overlooking the pool and guests are welcome to roam the trail through the woods and roam the pastures behind or in front of the house so bring your hiking boots and if you are a bike-rider bring your mountain bikes (the kind you pedal since we do not allow motorized vehicles on our trails). There is gravel on some of the farm roads so bikes with skinny tires only work well on the mile plus of paved private roads and mountain bikes are recommended for the gravel road section of our private roads and for the trail through the woods. Hunting or the discharge of firearms on the country estate farm is not permitted for liability reasons and to preserve the peace and quiet and IF ANYONE IN YOUR GROUP HAS FIREARMS THEY MUST BE LEFT LOCKED IN THEIR VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES. Here is a more detailed description of some of the key guest areas: The guest dining/kitchen area has a table that seats 8 and a bar/island that seats 3. There is live edge table next to the kitchen area on the screen porch that seats 3 as well as outdoor seating and tables at the adjacent pool patio. The open concept dining area adjoining the kitchen has lots of glass overlooking the pool and rear pasture and pond. The high-end kitchen has leathered granite counter tops and is exceptionally nice and has a side by side stainless steel refrigerator and stainless steel range for preparing your meals, a built-in microwave, dishwasher, and designer kitchen cabinets and island with granite counter tops. It is very nice and is well-stocked and has everything you need to do as much cooking as you desire. The informal guest living area on the second story has an Italian leather and fabric L-shaped sectional sofa and comfy chairs and a game table. The large media room for guests with the 70" high-end state of the art Samsung QLED TV for Netflix and Prime etc. is sequestered in the section of the guest area most suited for being able to watch movies without disturbing other folks in your group who may be in their bedrooms or in the other living area. The guest space is pet friendly for WELL-BEHAVED 100% house-trained dogs only. Out of deference to guests who may have cat allergies, WE DO NOT ACCEPT CATS. There is a $50 pet fee for each dog and you are responsible for damages if your dog damages anything. Since AirBnB does not collect pet fees for us PLEASE PLAN TO PAY YOUR PET FEE UPON ARRIVAL. In Guest access Since the 4100sf guest space in our 7000sf farm estate home is a completely private and self-contained space from the 2900sf owners area inside the same home, there is a separate guest parking area and separate exterior doors for guests to use to access the 4100sf guest space. Other things to note This is an exceptionally nice home with exceptionally nice furnishings and we only want to rent to guests who will both appreciate it and take good care of it and will abide by our NO PARTIES AND NO EVENTS" policy. This home is somewhere to come and unwind and relax and appreciate nature and the beautiful views and appreciate fellowship with the folks in your family or your friends. It is NOT a place to come to host a party or an event. I own a Brewery at the coast (FrontStreetBrewery in Wilmington) so I certainly don't have anything against folks consuming alcohol but just as I only want responsible consumption to occur at my Brewery, Lindy and I also only want responsible consumption of alcohol to occur at our farm.
