Featured in magazines for its stunning architecture and national park-like location, the cozy warm 2.5 story Cave Castle features interior cliffs, heated wood floors and a glass-doored wood stove in the 24' tall living room! Astounding views from the king, queen, jacuzzi, inspirational writers desk and roof. Cozy, luxurious getaway, perfect personal or romantic retreat aside wild park trails. Towering natural granite cliffs create a light, cave-like interior with spectacular panoramic views. Dramatic design features include a bold flagstone and granite cliff exterior, a wooden spiral staircase with white railings and a two-story living room with natural granite cliff walls graced with the elegant circular staircase surrounded by lofts above joined by walk ways with wooden railings on three sides. The spacious open floor plan includes a king bed and a queen bed. Featuring a built in office desk and a dining room, each of the two bay windows invite nature's beauty in with high ceilings and lots of light. Once up the stairs, take in the exultant panoramic views of the surrounding Dells from the enormous rooftop patio which is ideal for dining, intimate weddings, yoga and sunbathing. Built in 2017 with more heating options to choose from than any home we know to stay cozy with the granite walls and plenty of state-of-the-art built-in-to-the-wall heaters in each room wall. Plus, warm up on the silent radiant-heated hardwood floors while enjoying a flickering fire on the sheepskin rugs by the real wood stove amidst enchanting battery-powered candles. Cherry kitchen cabinets, granite counter tops, marble hearth and marble entry floors. Bay windows frame in views of tall trees and boulder cliffs. Imagine a living rock wall with plants growing out of it! Plus, several natural waterfalls cascading down the living room, bathroom and kitchen cliffs after each rain! Bathroom features include: hardwood floors, double antique vanities with mountain vistas to enjoy while brushing your teeth, glass block shower entrance walls, quartz pebble shower floors, marble shower walls, and a spacious shower window with views. The dining room features an arched flower bouquet alcove above bookcases built into the dining room beside the bay window which overlooks a flagstone patio with boulders, a garden and views of the canyon's cliffs beyond. The space also includes an additional unheated 320 sq ft clifftop dome, ideal for relaxing, meditating and yoga on warm sunny winter afternoons. Landscaping is comprised of mostly surreal peach-rock granite mini-mountains and with mature shade trees. Amidst spectacular scenery, three private pastel flagstone patios are connected by winding pathways and simple foot bridges over a seasonal stream. The carport features a natural flagstone floor. Luxuriate and be soothed in the indoor jacuzzi tub with inspiring cliff and tree vistas. Write your book from the custom executive wooden desk built into the bay window with heavenly postcard views. Drift to sleep while taking in the surreal Mars-like views of the boulders and starlit skies from beneath your covers. A trail outside the Cave Castle's door leads to a creek and the world-class Granite Gardens Trails. Walking to, kayaking on, and bicycling around nearby Watson Lake are favorite activities for adventure loving guests. Enjoy full private access to the entire 2.5 story furnished home that is gracefully appointed. Spacious master bedroom with king bed and executive desk built into the bay window with exquisite views, plus a queen bed in the guest loft, two spacious baths with boulder cliffs inside, private cherry wood kitchen with dining nook graced by cliffs, patios, decks, seasonal (April - Oct) solarium-covered swimming pool (over the foot bridge past the trampoline and lawn), hammock, seasonal pond, island, tall trees, canyon trails that lead to nearby Granite Creek and the gorgeous Granite Gardens Trails. ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING: EV charging at 110v is available at all of our AirBnB rentals for $20/day rather than by the hour or watt. 4G WIFI ONLY: Please note that wireless system is high speed 4G, not 5G. So if you have a 5G phone it may or may not work here unless you change the settings to 4G. WILDLIFE SANCTUARY: This is a wildlife sanctuary. During warmer months, you will hear countless birds singing in the morning, crickets, cicadas, bullfrogs and toads croaking, and coyotes howling under the full moon. You might encounter a (harmless) pack of wild javelinas at night prowling around the compost feeding area, an occasional raccoon, or skunk, squirrels, chipmunks and rodents of all kinds, lots of small, dinosaur-like lizards sunbathing on the boulders and patio. You may spot exotic large mammals, critters and insects too. REFUND NOTICE: There are absolutely no refunds for wildlife encounters of any kind either outside or inside. OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS: The Wildly Spectacular Cave Castle is one of several AirBnB accommodations at Heaven on Earth Retreat in the Gorgeous Granite Dells. If the Wildly Spectacular Cave Castle is not available, then you may be able to stay in the Spectacular Suite, Wild Treehouse Paradise, Sunroom Suite, Sun Studio or the Beachfront Canyon Pond Tiny Treasure. GUEST ACTIVITIES & GUIDELINES: Dear Treasured Guest, We hope the following paragraphs answer your questions about where to park, plus using the (seasonal) solarium-covered swimming pool, trampoline, bicycles, kayaks and paddle boards. Also, where the trails are as well as the many enjoyable activities to experience here at Heaven on Earth Retreat and beyond. Take note that our wireless systems are only 4G, not 5G. So if you have a 5G phone it may or may not work here unless you change the settings to 4G. The SEASONAL (April - Oct) SWIMMING POOL is located inside a plexiglass SOLARIUM. Simply walk over the bridge to passing the trampoline and lawn on your right. Enter the pool at either end. The doors are delicate. Please feel free to keep the doors open while you are using the pool (if it the air is too warm) for fresh air, then close the delicate doors when you are done. We aim to keep the pool at approximately 80 to 85 degrees F. However, during cold spells in April and October the water may be closer to 70 degrees, and on rare occasions in the 60s. THE CLIFFTOP DOME IS AVAILABLE as a shared space, usually enjoyed for quiet personal yoga, meditation and relaxation. No food or sleeping in the Clifftop Dome please. Kindly return all pillows, yoga mats and blankets neatly to their places. POOL RULES: POOL HOURS are 7 am until 9 pm. Please be quiet if you sense that someone may be sleeping or resting in the Treehouse in the Cliff above the pool. The pool is shared. If you or your children use the pool toys, please put them back after each use when done. NO alcohol or glass by the pool please. CHILDREN must be supervised. Please be sure you and the KIDS USE the SHOWER AND THE TOILET before entering the pool. The POOL BATHROOM is located inside the back ground level door of the main house (not your private Cave Castle). Please feel free to use the pool's strainer or net to clean any ant (you may save a life) or leaf from the top of the pool. The pool is cleaned daily. Because this is a wildlife sanctuary and the wild animals count on drinking from the pool occasionally, it is a very very slightly chlorinated pool, rather than salt water pool. The TRAMPOLINE is available to a maximum of two guests at one time. Bounce on the trampoline if you like. Please remove your shoes prior to entering the netted trampoline. Please feel free to sweep the trampoline if there is any debris on it. The broom and dust pan are lying on the outer edge of the trampoline. The trampoline is swept by staff every two days. The outdoor HOT TUB is seasonal and not available to guests. The Cave Castle does though have an indoor, private jacuzzi tub in the upstairs bedroom exclusively for you, the Cave Castle guests. TRAILS: The closest trail is right outside your door. Simply turn left out your front door, walk along the patio, down the three steps and see the sign "Trail" that points to the left. You will be immediately on the trail that curves past along the base of the cliff. The seasonal pond will be on your right. OPTION 1: Walk along as the trail as it hugs the cliff to your left. After 150 yards you come to a dip in the trail. Turn left at the dip along a rough narrow low trail that leads 100 yards to a dirt road. Cross the dirt road, then continue on the narrow slight trail for another 100 yards and you will arrive at the creekside trail area with beautiful tall trees and greenery between the months of April and November. OPTION 2: Walk along as the trail as it hugs the cliff to your left. After 150 yards you come to a dip in the trail. Continue straight passing the dip. Walk straight on the trail until you reach the dirt road. Turn right on the road. Walk for 250 yards until you arrive at the creek. OPTION 3: Once you are on the road, turn right. Then, after 200 yards, look for the wide low flat trail that intersects the road. Look for the small map on a posted sign next to the intersection of the rough road and wide trail. Walk UP the trail, which is called a White Spot Trail because you will follow the white spots about the size of an apple that are painted along the rocky way every few yards as your guide. Be sure to bring a camera because there are wonderful photographic opportunities high up along the way. This is a short yet spectacular loop trail along an amazing network called the Granite Gardens Trails. MORE TRAILS: The PEAVINE TRAIL is Prescott's most famous trail. To access the trail by foot or bicycle: walk to the end of our Lake Fork Rd. Turn left. Turn right at the stop sign. Walk up the hill. Veer left at the mail boxes on to the dirt road with signs that say "No Trespassing". Walk 200 yards. Turn left at the T. Walk 300 yards up the dirt road until you arrive at several vertical dark red posts. They indicate the Peavine Trail. Turn RIGHT or LEFT onto Peavine Trail that was once a rail road track turned into a wonderful, flat, raised, wide two-lane dirt trail marked by dark red metal poles at the entrance. Turn left to head north toward Chino Valley or Prescott Valley. OR, turn right (south) on the Peavine Trail toward Prescott and the back (east side) of Watson Lake which is about a mile away. Beyond the first view of the lake, keep walking to see more expansive views. Enjoy exploring the many miles of side trails on both sides of the Peavine Trail. If you have ample time and energy, and are talented with finding your way on trails, you can walk around Watson Lake in about 2 hours or ride a bike around it in an hour. Or, if you would prefer to relax into your adventure, you can hire Happy the Granite Dells Guide to accompany you for a small fee.
