B&B Sleeping with the mayor - History & luxury!

Discover beautiful Noord Holland from the monumental mayor villa in Sint Pancras. Previously, two generations of mayors received their fellow villagers here in the study on the Bovenweg. Now this room has been converted into a cozy and luxurious B&B. From here you can enjoy what the region has to offer carefree. In the morning we serve a delicious luxury breakfast. Of course, this is included in the price. The space In 1912, the villa was built by Anthonie Kroonenburg, the local carpenter and contractor. He builds it on behalf of his son Jacob Kroonenburg who will live there after his marriage with Neeltje Duif and later their children. Jacob Kroonenburg is mayor of Sint Pancras from 1911 to 1947. After his retirement, his son Cornelis Klaas Kroonenburg succeeds him as mayor, but the old mayor is very attached to the house and continues to live on the Bovenweg until 1961. The young mayor lives with his family in the relatively small office home on Kerkplein, but if this gets too tight, the father and son of home exchange. In 1961 Klaas moves into the mayor's villa with his wife Ieke de Witte and their four children. After Cornelis Klaas Kroonenburg resigns as mayor in 1980, he continues to live in the villa with his wife. If the property is offered for sale in 2015, we will not hesitate for a moment and buy the house. After a thorough renovation, we move into the house in 2016 and thus become the first non-mayors to come to live in the villa. The mayor's old study is transformed into a luxury bed and breakfast. During your stay We are Marly & Paul and have been living with great pleasure in the former mayor's house of Sint Pancras since 2016. At the end of 2015, we became the proud owners of this monumental villa. At the first viewing, we fell in love, but realized that there was still a long way to go. The last modernization had taken place about 40 years ago. Exactly one year we did about the renovation. With a lot of passion and dedication, we have largely carried out this renovation ourselves. We pride ourselves on maintaining the history and character of the property. In the meantime, we have transformed the former office of Mayor Jacob Kroonenburg and Mayor Klaas Kroonenburg into a luxurious Bed & Breakfast. We would like to welcome you in our B&B.
