The space This guesthouse is a renovated 100-year-old traditional home located in Yokote, Akita — a snowy region known for its deep local culture. Once used as a teahouse, the building is now registered as a cultural property. The main house serves as the guest accommodation, while the adjacent storehouse has been transformed into a bar. Because of the building’s traditional wooden structure, sounds travel easily — allowing you to sense the presence, warmth, and rhythm of others around you. Shared facilities are part of the experience, inviting guests to slow down and live together with care. Here, everyday life continues gently, just as it is. Guest access During your stay, you will have access to the following areas: ・Your reserved guest room ・Shared spaces (shower rooms, toilets, lounge, kitchen, laundry) ・The on-site bar (during operating hours) The bar serves as the central gathering place of this accommodation, where travelers and locals come together. Upon check-in, guidance will also be provided at the dedicated counter located within the bar. Please note that some areas (such as staff-only spaces) are restricted for safety and privacy reasons. The building is an old traditional house, so sound carries easily. We ask all guests to use the facilities considerately so that everyone can enjoy a comfortable stay. Other things to note ・The building is wooden, so sound carries easily. ・It may not be suitable for guests seeking complete silence. ・Please keep noise to a minimum after 10:00 PM. ・Dormitories are available in two types: mixed-gender dormitories with 6 beds, and female-only dormitories with 4 beds. ・Dormitories are shared rooms, so please take care of your valuables. ・Private rooms are available in two sizes: for 2–3 guests and for 3–4 guests. ・Private rooms are located on the second floor and require using stairs. ・Private rooms are traditional Japanese-style rooms with futons for sleeping. ・During summer (July–August) and winter (November–March), a heating/cooling fee of 600JPY is charged.
