Description
Go back to a simpler time. Enjoy the privacy of this historic log cabin on a secluded lake. Nestled in the pines, wake to the melody of the loons and listen to the cooing of owls at night. Clear water (no-gas-motor) and sandy bottom lake is perfect for swimming and fishing. Paddling silently in the canoe, you may see Sand Hill Cranes, endangered osprey on their nests in the spring or great blue herons and bald eagles fishing in the summer and fall. The space The original cabin, circa 1880, was built with local timbers, as a hunting den. Notice the quiet and natural insulation of the mega-thick walls. There is a fully equipped eat-in kitchen, bedroom and bathroom with shower as well as a newly remodeled living room offering great views of the lake and woods. The private dock is a favorite spot for fishing, swimming and relaxing. A canoe and 2 paddle boards will be available for your use. There is a fire pit, charcoal grill and picnic table for outdoor dining. Guest access You have exclusive use of the entire property which includes over an acre of natural wooded area, fire pit, patio and large dock. We provide a lovely canoe, paddles & life jackets. You can also enjoy the new paddle boards - Paddle North. The lake is spring fed , sandy bottom and perfect for swimming & fishing. No gas motors are allowed, so the only other water craft you may see may be kayaks or trolling motor powered pontoons. Other things to note We are very protective of our water and shore and ask everyone to respect the serene nature of the area. This is a secluded quiet spot, and we ask guests to please consider the way that sound amplifies as it travels across the water. Please refrain from noise-sharing with others on the lake.
