The space Escape to this private, peaceful, 550 square feet water tower suite nestled amongst the redwoods. This is the perfect place for a romantic get-away or some downtime. Sleep under the overhead sunflower, lit by the rays of the morning sun. Best of all, you'll be surrounded by plenty of tall trees and ocean breezes, with a location 2.75 miles east of the village of Mendocino. The private (exclusive) bathroom has a roomy shower, indoor hot tub, beautiful stone counters, custom cabinets built by a local fine woodworker and radiant floor heating. The bedroom has the feel of a tree house, with a new king-sized, comfy bed, good reading lights, 55" OLED HDR flat screen TV, with Apple TV. Wake up to the sound of birds in the trees and sunlight filtering through the redwoods. On chilly mornings, warm up in the private (exclusive) hot tub with a cup of coffee before heading out for the day. There is a downstairs entry room with all that you need to make that perfect cup of morning coffee, or tea, plus a small fridge for wine or leftovers. The outdoor deck is set in a lovely Asian style garden, a perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. Please be aware that there is no kitchen, microwave, etc., and that 'cooking' is not allowed. There are great local restaurants nearby. The Water Tower makes for an ideal home base for exploring the fabulous Mendocino Coast. You will undoubtedly want to explore the historic, quaint and quirky coastal village and enjoy the many art galleries, restaurants, and shops. Take a walk on the Mendocino Headlands State Park and the majestic coastal bluffs of the Pacific Ocean. When you are done, wander back into town or a hot chocolate or glass of wine at the historic Mendocino Hotel. The area is known for ocean kayaking, hiking, and phenomenal mountain biking opportunities such as the beautiful Big River trail. You're also close to Russian Gulch State Park and the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse recreational areas for further adventures. At the end of a day of adventuring along the Mendocino Coast, relax and enjoy your private hot tub in the luxurious bathroom, while sipping a glass of wine from one of the many wonderful local wineries. Winter is a great time to visit the Mendocino area and experience the winter storms and watch the whales migrate from Alaska to Mexico. Your bedroom and bathroom are in a converted water tower, attached to (but separate from) the historic lumber bunkhouse which has been converted into a residence. This space is not appropriate for children, or people who smoke, or pets. A personal vehicle is totally necessary in this area. No public transportation worthy of the name! Guest access Nature. Pacific Ocean. Big River. Exclusive use of a private indoor hot tub in the downstairs bathroom (exclusive to your use while here), hallway with beverage bar, small deck outside for a cuppa or glass of wine overlooking the garden, and upstairs: the very private bedroom with California King bed and 55" LG OLED television. Other things to note There is a small refrigerator and coffee and tea desk available in the downstairs Hallway, but no kitchen and no cooking is allowed. At the off-street parking space, there is an outside 'security camera' which is focused on the spot where you will be parking your car. There is also a ‘ChargePoint’ electric vehicle charger on the wall. If used, you will be expected to reimburse the owners for power transferred to your vehicle. Also, the price posted includes the required 10% Occupancy and 1% other Mendocino County taxes. Some AirBnb listings do not actually remit these taxes to their city or county (and this is the one of the reasons AirBnb is being legislated against in many areas). Unhappily, AirBnb does not allow these to be broken out separately. The quoted price per night for the listing is received, and then the 11% Occupancy Tax is remitted to the local county. 'Just Saying'... Mendocino County Business License #: 110242
