The house isn't just near Plaka; it's nestled right in its vibrant heart! Plaka stands as Athens' oldest district, boasting streets like Kidathineon, Lisiou, and Tripodon that have existed since the 5th Century BC. It's akin to a quaint village within the bustling city, a charming enclave beneath the Acropolis' watchful gaze. With all major historical sites just a five-minute stroll away, it's an ideal location for exploring Athens' rich heritage. The space Honoring the traditional essence imbued within this historic house, which dates back to the 1920s, the studio has undergone recent renovations while maintaining its authentic character. The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with modern amenities, including a refrigerator, microwave, stove with two hotplates, kettle, and both filter and espresso coffee makers, along with essential cookware and tableware for your culinary needs. In the main living space, a cozy double bed and wardrobe offer comfort and convenience. The living room features a charming stone wall reminiscent of days gone by, complemented by a dining table with chairs and a convertible corner couch, providing additional sleeping space when needed. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed to a pristine environment with freshly laundered sheets and towels provided (one small and one large towel per person). The recently renovated bathroom, completed in March 2024, is stocked with toiletries including shampoo, shower gel, and ample supplies of toilet paper. An iron and ironing board, washing machine with drying rack and clothes pegs, and a hairdryer ensure added convenience during your stay. Situated on the ground floor, with just two steps down from street level (approximately 40cm descent), the apartment maintains accessibility while retaining its historical charm. Additionally, amenities such as WiFi, a 32inch smart TV , blackout roller blinds, air conditioning, and heating are provided for your comfort and enjoyment throughout your stay. As our apartment is in a residential building (not a hotel), we’re unfortunately unable to offer early check-in or late check-out. If your arrival or departure time doesn’t match the standard hours, we’ll happily recommend a nearby place where you can store your luggage safely and free of charge. Guest access Guests enjoy complete and exclusive access to the House! Street parking is available free of charge, but with everything conveniently close by, a car or motorbike isn't really essential! Other things to note The Metro, Bus, and Tram stations are just a five-minute walk away! Syntagma station, the central hub in Athens, stands opposite the Greek Parliament and offers direct access to the airport via the blue line. We'll provide you with an illustrated map detailing how to reach us from there. For added convenience, additional room cleaning and changes of bed sheets/towels can be arranged upon request for an extra fee. Private transportation to/from the airport and port is also available for an additional charge.
