This traditional Kominka was renovated by Akizuki based aki(architects) in August 2022, whose previously work for Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa / SANAA. The space It has 2 bedroom ensuites, a cafe-style dining room, and a gallery space connecting to a Japanese garden. Upon arrival, you will find the private gallery hung with rotating sets of works by artists such as David Hockney, Robert Rauschenberg, Yokoo Tadanori, Madsaki, Christo, and Richard Estes. The architectural renovation was carried out by aki(architects), a studio based in Akizuki founded by architects with experience at the renowned Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa / SANAA. Other things to note This house is part of our Akizuki Project, led by Kerry Greer along with his daughter Hana and her partner Héctor (both architects and founders of aki(architects), based in Akizuki). The project aims to attract new families to the area and increase enrollment at the local public school.
